We stayed for 3 nights in this hotel in a room with private bathroom on the second floor which wasn't too noisy. Despite the reviews, the room was unexpectedly clean with no bugs there :)
The room and mostly the bathroom were really small - can be uncomfortable for a longer time to stay. Our room was equipped with LCD tv, refridgerator, hair dryer and a quite small table.
The staff (and their cat) was friendly and helpful. Metro station is not too far (7 mins walk). We didn't walk late night on the streets, but ( as far as we know ) the district was absolutely safe.
I think, we'll book again in this hotel, if we'll go back to Paris.

I stayed at this hotel twice while I was in France: my first night in Paris before journeying south, and the night before I caught my flight out. Accommodations were fine for a budget hotel, the staff was friendly and helpful, and I had no problems my first night. But on the second (a Saturday night), they inexplicably turned the reception area/cafe into an extremely loud late-night dance party that went until 3-4 in the morning. When I awoke, I assumed the noise was coming from a bar around the corner or something, but upon further investigation was absolutely flabbergasted that the noise was coming from inside the hotel itself. My sleep was done at that point, as was the sleep of many others it seemed, based on sounds from the hall. Seems pretty unconscionable to me for a hotel to treat its guests this way. Unless you are way into the party scene, I would steer clear.

I stayed there few nights

Good
- it's near to the metro (the main reason i chose this hotel)
- Early flee markets just outside the hotel on Tuesday and Friday and you can feel local experience buy cheap cheap food there.
- No bed bugs found (not in my room anyway, and i'm not sure other room though)
- free wifi but everything i have to go to the lowest floor to catch a good signal

Bad
- i dun feel really safe walking around at the evening and it's near to the china town
- the owner should change the mattress! it's bloody soft at the middle and i got backpain at the morning!
- the room is not that clean and just too small for a couple to stay, maybe it's ok for student though... i dunno.

i dunno whether it's a budget double bed room coz i paid 46 Euros per night for 2 people! Apparently the owner told me if next time i'm going there and book with him directly i could get a cheaper rate! (anyway i dun think i'll go there again!)

Room Tip: Shared 2 showers is on the third floor Each floor got a shared toilet

Stayed at twin shared room. On Wednesday (if not mistaken) will have a morning market in front of the hotel. The atmosphere around the hotel is really chilling and relaxing. The host also quite helpful even can speak little English. The television set not really working, but who cares you in Paris to explore in the city not to stay in the room all day long! You can leave your bag after check out while waiting to depart by bus or plane or whatever. A lot of Turkish restaurant nearby. But the location quite a bit outskirt of Paris and that's what make you really a French for a few day. Facilities are average. Recommended for budget travelers and those who want to become a French while in Paris.

Room Tip: You need help, just ask them!

This was a perfect hotel for us. Very cheap for a great little french hotel in a lovely part of Paris. Two minute walk from the metro and we walked to notre dame/pompidou twice which took only 20mins and was a great way to see more of Paris you might not see otherwise. My sister and I stayed for three nights and the staff were very helpful and very friendly, the room was small but clean and warm, the bed was comfortable, with a sink in the room. The shared bathroom was fine there was never much of a queue for the toilet or the shower and everything was kept very clean. The bar on the weekend played live music with local French people making us feel so welcome. The local bars and cafes on our street and also on rue oberkamf were quirky and lively and felt very safe with GREAT prices and were just far enough away to have no noise in the hotel. The breakfast isnt included but the bakery just next door had unbelievable croissants and the cafes all around served great coffee. I couldnt recommend this hotel and this area more.

little tip - great second hand/vintage shop on boulevard de la republique close to the hotel. called 'Oh Lumiere'. cheap and lovely workers to help you decide!
