“Small but chic”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

I spent one night at Hotel Le Royal and I must say it was very enjoyable. The room was very small but cosy and stylish. It is in a lovely area and if you enjoy walking you will make it to Saint Germain in no time. Staff were nice and helpful and it was just what I needed for my short stay.

Room Tip: I stayed in a standard room which was small but perfect for one person. It may be tight for a couple...

We stayed here for 2 nights and very much enjoyed our stay.
Although the location is not 'central' it is a 1 minute walk to the metro and so Notre Dame and other sights are reachable in 10 minutes.
Our room was apparently an 'upgrade'. Despite this there is no doubt that it was very small - you could just about get around the bed. The bed, however, was comfortable, the location seemed quite peaceful and, contrary to some reports, I found the free wifi signal very strong.
What probably made this a decent stay as opposed to an average one was the service. In particular, the chap on the front desk (who seemed to be always there) was very helpful and friendly. He made us feel welcome and that he wanted us to enjoy our stay.
Breakfasts were fine too - buffet style with croissants, pain au chocolats, salamis, fruit salad etc.
Recommended.

stayed for one night in a room for 3 people. the room was small and carpet in it wasn't cleaned. the Wi-Fi didn't work well - I had to stand next to door in order to get a signal.
i didn't like the location - too far from the notre dame.
definitely an overpriced room. I won't come back.

This was a lovely small hotel, conveniently located w/in a block from 2 metro stops. Every morn we would go down, have breakfast (croissants, meats, pastries, yogurt, fruit, but the same everyday) and then review our itinerary with Eric. He was very helpful and would advise us on the best route or provide tips such as taking a private tour at Versailles. He also made recommendations on restaurants, Our last day, we had a shuttle coming @ 6:30am and Marmoud had coffee and breakfast waiting for us when we checked out. Those gestures from the staff are what really made our stay. Rooms were fine, clean and had free wifi. Do not hesitate to stay here.

Super location 50 m from Rue de Montparnasse. , easy and not so far from best place in Paris as Louxembourg garden or Church St.germain. Easy connection by subway to the Louvre, Eiffel tower in 10 minutes you could pass everything.

Just returned from a 4 night stay in this hotel. People comment all the time on the arrogant, stand-off ish, non-english speaking french. What a load of rubbish! The staff in this hotel are wonderfully accommodating and couldnt be friendlier. (90% of Parisians speak fluent english, even if they say they dont, but its nice to make an effort at speaking french as the response you get is so much better.) It doesnt matter where you stay in Paris as the Metro is so efficient - i had concerns about staying out of the centre but this hotel is fine - very clean, ample breakfast, room small but, dont expect a large room as the parisians dont get that luxury in their own homes either! Would def recommend this hotel. We took the Airfrance bus from the airport as it dropped us the closest to the hotel but this was the slowest and most expensive so next time id happily take the train or roissybus as the Metro is easy to use and would get you from your drop-off point to within a 5 minute stroll from the hotel (Metro Vavin).
Plenty of shops, cafes nearby but dont follow a guide book too much just walk as there are cafes everywhere - avoid the touristy areas for food - champs elysses etc as you'll pay a fortune. Stroll down a side road, you'll find starter and main or main and dessert or all 3 with or without a drink menu offers a whole lot cheaper than if you eat where the other tourists go.
Felt incredible safe wherever i went - had 800 euros stuffed in my wallet and happily got on/off metro, went up eiffel tower etc - no probs. Amazing to flop in a cafe and people watch - the parisians are slim and their dress sense, albeit mostly black, - clothes that fit immacuately - is a joy to see - in fact the only porkers in town were the brits men in t-shirts with matching beer guts and brit girls with fat backsides and baggy sweat shirts, both sexes covered with, yawn, yawn, tattoos! Made me so proud to be British!!

Great little hotel in a nice area, a number of restaurants, bars, shops and mini-markets to keep you entertained. For me this was a little bit too far from my preferred area of St German des Pres and for that reason only I probably wouldn't stay here again but it was very nice and we really enjoyed our stay.
