We booked this hotel after searching Tripadvisor, and despite the reviews, we were still surprised how small our "superior" room was. Having said that, the bed was supremely comfortable, the hotel was extremely clean and the decor was eye catching. We opted for the breakfast inclusive package and for the extra we paid, we felt it was good value. The hotel staff went out of their way to be welcoming and helpful and were more than happy to look after our cases after check out, until we had to leave Paris. The location of the hotel is great, being in the Latin Quarter, yet only 3 stops on the nearby RER to Gare du Nord. We will definitely return.

Stayed here for a long weekend and had a wonderful time! Room was small, but certainly enough for a solo traveler (or couple travelling light), and not unusual for Paris. The area is fantastic, and the staff was very warm and accommodating. Definitely recommend it!

My husband and I stayed here last year for a few nights of our honeymoon and returned this year for our anniversary. We had room #54 which after this stay, I will be requesting very time. The view over the rooftops and Pantheon is FANTASTIC. We sat by the open french doors every afternoon for a glass of wine or champagne & slept with the doors open every night for fresh air. It was a bit noisy in the early mornings as the neighborhood woke up, but who cares! The rooms are not huge, but the decor is great and remember....YOU'RE in PARIS, so it's all good!! The staff is kind & helpful, & you can keep things chilled in the kitchen fridge if you just ask!

Again we enjoyed the restaurants in Place de la Sorbonne and around the Pantheon. Do It!!!

We booked to stay for four nights just before Christmas 2011 at a promotional rate which was incredibly good value.

The hotel is beautifully designed with the rooms, breakfast room and reception area all having a modern trendy feel.

The staff are very helpful and offered lots of advice- even where to get a fillet steak at 2am!

The location is fantastic with sights such as notre dame just a short stroll away.

Excellent hotel- we hope to return soon!

What the other reviewers say is true, it's a fantastic location and the staff are super helpful. It's good value for the price, the rooms are clean, and the decor is very nice.... but - we had a 'superior room' and I just can't see how it can be classed as that. Lucky I didn't bring the cat because you couldn't swing it. The room was so small we couldn't have both our suitcases open without having access to the door blocked off. The bathroom was tiny and although there was decent pressure in the shower, the plug in the sink didn't close over the plug hole and you risked impalement on the corner of the sink every time you stood up from the toilet.

The lift is tiny - possibly one step up from a dumb waiter, but we did manage to get in it with all our bags - an interesting experience!

On the positive side, the double glazing kept the room nice and quiet and there were complimentary sweets and water which were very much appreciated. Toiletries supplied were very nice. The room was efficiently air-conditioned and had an iMac and free wifi, however the French keyboard was a bit of a challenge! Towels were clean and did actually dry you unlike some which sort of just spread the water round a bit.

For us, the location was the best bit and if you don't mind being a bit cramped then this hotel might suit you, but if you're at all claustrophobic then you might want to consider other options.

I'd read reviews saying it was a bit cramped, but seriously .. .when we arrived and called the elevator, the door opened and inside were just two suitcases - the owner of which was running down the stairs to meet them, because the lift can't fit both a person and two suitcases. Opening the door to the room sort of blocks the entrance so you have to slide in sideways like a secret agent. Same goes for the bathroom, which is so small that drying yourself after a shower is like dancing in a crowded nightclub. The toilet is partially under the basin so you have to lower yourself into place like a Tetris piece. There is very little shelf and hanging space, so we had to live out of our suitcases, which in turn lived on the floor because there isn't anywhere else to put them.

That all said, it was quiet, comfortable, clean, and the location can't be beaten - and that's really what mattered to us. This is not a holiday resort, it is just a place to sleep in a city where you should be spending your time out and about. My wife & I slept extraordinarily well here. Also granted they did apparently have larger rooms (which they tried to upsell us when we arrived, but we declined.) Being cramped was less an annoyance than just a running joke during our stay. Does this room really need a safe which is so small it can barely fit anything of value (my 11" macbook air did not fit, neither did my SLR camera.) Does it really need a dedicated desk with a computer on it? I'd personally have preferred the space be repurposed for storing clothes or luggage.

At one point we asked if they had a US-France power adapter, which they lent us (with a sticker stating we'd be charged €50 if we lost it... seriously?!). When we plugged it in, it tripped the electricity throughout more than half the hotel building. I hadn't even known that could happen.

Overall I'd probably stay here again. It's located in the center of Paris, close to many metro stops, shopping districts, restaurants and sights. It's great value, and it's clean. And nobody stole our stuff even though it wasn't in the safe. As long as you're prepared for how tiny it is, you won't be disappointed.

yes, the rooms are small, even tinier the bathrooms - BUT
* the location must be the nicest in Paris (right next to the Sorbonne, a short walt to Notre Dam and the Pantheon), in a small courtyard of a nice building
* the service was impeccable, although I had a very late arrival
* I just love the decor, individual and chick
* the bed was great
* the room was so quite (facing the back and the courtyard)
* the IMac in each room as well as free WiFi is a definite plus

I would definitely go there again, if I get a nice deal again on the rate.
