“Great budget hotel close to Metro and Montrematre”
Reviewed March 17, 2010

We normally stay at Backpacker hostels, but after reading reviews on this site, decided to stay here. It's great value for money and my French is virtually non existent, so somewhere that they spoke English was important, in fact I thought the girl was American not French! We did meet some complaining British tourists that seemed to forget just how little they had paid for the hotel in the first place. However, we were in Paris for 1 1/2 days and were only there to sleep so it met our needs perfectly.

We arrived at the airport in the morning and grabbed an all day train ticket which took us to Gare du Nord, from there its just 2 stops on the metro, follow the signs to the Montre Martre and you will cross the rd to the left and the hotel is on your left too.
We dumped our bags and got back on the train with our all day ticket and headed to Versailles, Brilliant. Got back to the hotel and splashed out on dinner and a show at the Moulin Rouge. What an experience.
The next day, (Brekkie was plenty for us & free internet a bonus) we left our bags and headed to the Catacombs... Never seen anything like that, fascinated by them and time ran away spending several hours there. Take a torch if you go! Then went to go to Musee D Orsay, but the queue was horrendous, so a quick photo stop at the Notre Dame before heading back to the hotel to pick up our bags. From there we caught the Thayls Hi speed train into Germany for 29EU each.

Overall a Brilliant experience, we'll be back in 3 years for another day trip!

What a positive experiance! The hotel was right near to a metro stop, The Sacre Couer, as well as next to several very good restaurants, including an exquisite Indian food place. We honestly had no problem manuevering easily all over Paris from that location. The room was comfortable and cute. The staff went above and beyond what they needed to to do in order to help us get all of our plans in order and were gracious and friendly. My boyfriend and I would definitely stay there again!

Stayed here not really knowing what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the rooms and the excellent, extremely friendly staff. It's close proximity to a metro stop makes it's somewhat out of the way location a non-issue. If you're looking to have an enjoyable experience on a tighter budget this is a great choice.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The rooms were a bit small, but worked out just fine. They were clean and neat and heated well. The temps outside were in the low 30. The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. The location of the hotel was very convenient and we had a very short walk to the metro. We felt the area was safe and didn't hesitate to be out at night in the area. It was a good value for our week stay, I would recommend the hotel and would stay here again. I was especially impressed with the WI-Fi connection. We used this a lot and it was convenient to have connection from our room. There was a computer in the lobby for client use.

Hello everyone. My review should really be a call not only for the hotel but also and especially for Paris.
My stay was wonderful despite the cold Frebbraio.
All made pleasant by the staff of capable and friendly hotel.
The rooms are clean and comfortable although small.
The Hotel is well heated and silent. I had been told to Montmaitre as a danger zone for pick-pocketing, but at least for me, it was not the case. And I saw no danger. The area is beautiful, the streets, although small, are characteristic and reflect the multiracial culture of Paris.
Visit Paris and I highly recommend The Hotel Bellevue Montmaitre.
An excellent 3 star hotel.

Bellevue is an excellent base for exploring Paris. I was a first-time visitor, and found the reception staff charming and helpful (even encouraged my poor attempts at French!). My room was small, but comfortable (double bed), very clean and everything worked, including the TV. The area is busy and vibrant by day, but quiet at night, so a good night's sleep is assured. Abbesses Metro nearby, as is Sacre Coeur cathedral, and many bistros/cafes. I felt very safe and comfortable, as a lone female traveller. I wouldn't hesitate to return.

Bellevuehotel, Manager at Hotel Bellevue Paris Montmartre, responded to this review, February 7, 2010
Here is our Management answer:

1) a) The room are beautiful and very well decorated. The furniture, including the wardrobe, has been hand made by a top French “artisan” with specialty wood; the wall paper is from Osborne & Little, a first class British manufacturer; the fabrics for the curtains are from Designer’s Guild, another prime British manufacturer, and the carpet is from the most famous French carpet manufacturer Ege. The Frames on th ewall are from famous Impresionists and other Painters. The colours are exquisite (black/white or Bordeaux/yellow tones).

b) Further, the hotel was renovated in September 2003 and was awarded the 3* status by the City of Paris after an extensive review by a City Review Board made up of about 23 city representatives, including the Office of Tourism, the Prefecture de Police, The City Fire Department, etc. Therefore, the rooms have a size that meets the rigorous standards of the City of Paris.
Further, our renovation, which costs us almost 1 million Euros, was done by an architect and decorator that did several BEST WESTERN 3* and 4* hotels in Paris, using the same kind of furniture and some of the same suppliers. All the equipment is “state of the art” systems, including the bathroom fixtures (Grohe, a top german manufacturer), the electrical system, the TV, phone and internet system (France Telecom), etc. Therefore, the showers run with hot shower and good water pressure at all times, there is barely a short circuit in the rooms despite heavy usage, etc
Further, we are always making improvements to increase our services: for instance, we already have plans for a more extensive renovation of the reception and breakfast area.

c) Our hotel is kept in a sparkling clean and in good condition, something we pride ourselves on. Of course, we change sheets before every new customer’s arrival. In fact, we are using a cleaning company, which is also used by the Accor hotel chain, the largest hotel chain in France and one of the largest in the world: therefore, our hotel is impeccably cleaned everyday.
Finally, client should have asked for the Manager (I), and I would have gadly changed their room or solve any problems.

2) About Breakfast: For your information, we serve Continental Breakfast as advertised on a buffet, which includes orange juice, tea, coffee, chocolate, hot milk as a buffet, as well as fresh and hot croissants, pain au chocolat (chocolate bread), and baguettes, butter, jam, fresh fruits, yogurts, etc., all of these at will. If a client so desires, our waitresses can serve several glasses of orange juice or coffee, several croissant, etc.

Further, we get fresh bread and “croissants” / “pain au chocolat” deliveries from one of the best hotel providers in Paris (Maison Leriche). Also, breakfast is served everyday by a professional waitress who gives good service. She is working for a leading hotel management company, and is extremely professional.
Therefore, the great majority of our clients like our breakfast and we really believe that we offer an excellent ratio of quality to price.

Conclusion:
1) The client should have asked for the manager (myself) at anytime and I would have made sure that the Client get a change of room.
2) We believe that we do offer an excellent service for an extremely reasonable price. In fact, we do pride ourselves on offering our clients the best Quality/Price ratio
