This hotel ticks all the boxes. Metro is literally a 30 second walk away. Pompidou centre is about a 10/15 min walk away, lots of cafes and restauarants very close by and also a carrefour city shop for small food items.

Hotel: Small but it is perfect. Had the room on the top floor, decent size for a Paris hotel, pristine clean, aircon worked well, windows that open, bathroom with shower (no bidet) also spotless. Large TV on the wall, Lighting was also good and ample plugs for electrical items. WIFI excellent....code given on arrival and never had a problem in 4 days, worked in room perfectly.
Lift is very small (3 person) but the stairs are equally bendy so its a case of grin and bear the lift if like me you are not keen on the tiny french lifts. (it is a modern one tho)

Breakfast 10 Euro. Decided to go for it despite seeming a bit expensive and it was well worth it, big selection of items from self service bar, pasties, juices, selection of teas and coffees. (no cooked items). Breakfast is served in the basement, small area painted white, like a little cavern, very light and ideal for the purpose.

Staff: Very helpful, even offered to open a bottle of wine we purchased as we had no cork screw ! Little things like that make a big difference.

Final Note on rooms:
Very impressed they are insulated with a thick sound barrier wall paper, doors also have a surround to stop the bang of a door closing. No noise at all. Amazing as Paris is just outside your window. Having said that we did face the courtyard. View looking inwards into the yard is quite ugly as buildings around are in a terrible state when viewed from that angle. Don't let that put you off, it's all part of the experience.

Summary:
Excellent stay, impressive rooms (with tea / coffee facilities), beds great, interior was lovely, nothing at all to complain about. VERY impressed and location is IDEAL !

We spent 3 nights here recently while visiting Paris. The location couldn't have been better, steps from the metro. It was also close enough to the tourist spots that we chose to walk a few times. One morning set off towards the Bastille and found ourselves walking through sidewalk sales and stopping for fruit and cheese samples along the way. The room and elevator were small--as expected in Paris--but things were clean and comfortable and the desk staff was helpful. Only negatives were 1) computer in the lobby wouldn't log onto the Internet during our stay and 2) no shampoo in the room. Overall great place to have as a base while visiting Paris.

We were very pleased with this hotel. The front desk was always staffed, the room was large enough for two people and two large pieces of luggage, hot water was available from the shower. There is a water kettle, tea bags, instant coffee, and milk and sugar in the room. They require you to drop off your key at the front desk before leaving. All in all, we felt the hotel was clean, safe, and comfortable.

This hotel was exactly as described. We couldn't have asked for a better staff from front desk, breakfast staff and housekeeping. Not being able to speak French was never a problem, English was understood. The breakfast items were plentiful; breads, pastries, cereal, boiled eggs, a terrific choice of coffee and chocolate drinks, fruit, orange juice and more. It is quiet and it is in the Marais neighborhood (very safe), close to many cafes, small grocery stores, several metro lines and, although your feet will be sore at the end of the day, you can take daily walks (some very long) to virtually any major Paris attraction with the exception of Sacre Coeur (uphill). We walked to Notre Dame, The Louvre, Orsay, Cluny, Saint Chapelle, the Pantheon, St. Sulpice, Luxembourg Gardens, Eiffel Tower, Invalides, Arc de Triomphe, the Latin Quarter, the Seine, Opera Garnier and Galeries Lafayette, etc. The Centre Pompidou is a short distance away. Can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: We had a room on the back side. No view but very, very quiet.

The rooms as other have said are small, cozy, cramp, whatever term you want to use, but from what I've been told this is the norm and not the exception in Paris. The room was clean, beds small but comfortable and small but clean bathroom as well. The front staff is friendly enough. The locations is good. Subway is just around the corner along with several places to eat. Most the cities attractions are 15-90 mins walk. Notre Dame is a reasonable 15-20 min walk along with some other sites.

Breakfast was good. The wifi worked flawlessly. The neighborhood felt reasonably safe unlike some other parts of Paris.

Price... it was the highest by far I paid for anywhere in Europe (or China or USA), but again having looked at dozens of other hotels online in Paris, this is also the norm, not the exception. Relative to other hotels in Paris, it's a decent value, but this hotel is not first class, so if that's what you expect, look elsewhere and expect to pay a LOT more. However, if all you want is a basic place to sleep, wash, and rest your feet, this might be for you.

Room Tip: Our room was on the back side, not facing the street and while there was nothing to see but another building, it was very quiet.
