“perfect location”
Reviewed July 29, 2012

We had an excellent 3 night stay at the Hotel Cujas and would certainly book to stay here again. The staff are very polite and helpful, the rooms clean and comfortable and the standard of the hotel far exceeded our expectations for a 2*. Best of all is the location of the hotel, a 2 minute walk to the Pantheon and a 5 minute stroll to the Luxembourg gardens. Perfect.

I'm giving the hotel a 5 rating with the idea that it's a 2* hotel and it exceeded my expectations for value, cleanliness, friendliness, location, bed comfort, shower pressure in the 2* hotel category. To add what people have already said, I requested a quiet room and was placed in a "courtyard" room which was basically an alley, but it was certainly quiet. I heard absolutely nothing from the outside for the six nights I stayed there in a twin room. The central air conditioning in my room was surprisingly quiet and worked very well. Loved the free wi-fi. I can't think of a single complaint.

I took the RER from CDG. It's a long walk from the terminal to the train station, but I did not encounter stairs. Fortunately I travel light and with wheeled luggage. There is an escalator at the Luxembourg RER stop going up, but I couldn't find one going down. When I inquired at the ticket booth the attendant acted like I was a stupid tourist...all I could do was chuckle at the exchange. I also took the RER to Gare Nord to catch my train to Belgium. It was three stops with no changes. When I inquired at the hotel I was told the taxi fare would have been about $50. The train was about $2 and was easy. Once at Gare Nord it is a long walk from the RER to the Thalys area (also the Eurostar area). A taxi would have dropped me off right at the door for Thalys; since I travel light the extra walking was not a problem.

There are two bus lines near the Pantheon that were convenient to some of the places I wanted to go. The Metro stairs were starting to be a pain, especially at Abbesses, and I started using the buses or I walked. There might be an elevator there, but I couldn't find one.

Lots of markets and take-aways near this hotel. Fresh squeezed OJ seemed to be everywhere at a reasonable price.

About 100 feet from the hotel at the corner of Cujas and St. Michel is an ATM that gives the option of English and another option of how you want your bills, large or small. Not all the ATMs offered that.

I´ve been there in October, 2011. Very close to the Jardins de Luxembourg, Pantheon, Sorbonne, Museé de Cluny, and 10 minutes walking from Notre Dame. Very nice people of hotel, speaking good English. Good breakfast. Room clean and well conserved.

The title says it all. I can only suggest to book the room on the last floor (garret) and observe at night Parisians living their lives. Have a nice bottle of red, cheese and baguette from a local store. Nice tub. To/from airport RER from Luxembourg station (15 min walk) goes direct. No need for taxi.

This was a great small hotel in the Latin Quarter. All staff members were very friendly and spoke good English. The room wasn't big but well equipped and clean. Comparing to other hotels, the bathroom was big enough. There was an elevator for more than two people with luggage. Our room was very quiet. There were many good restaurants and cafes nearby. The price was reasonable and the menu was available in English. The greatest thing was the location. It was about 10 min from the Cathedral of Notre Dame, 30min to the Palace of Louvre, 5 min to the Luxemburg Garden and the Sorbonne was just around the corner. The RER station was 5 min apart and from there you can go easy to the airport. As a whole, we were very satisfied. In spite the rain and the cold weather, we had a wonderful time in Paris.

A great location right in the Italian quarter, 5 minutes walk from Notre Dame.
The hotel staff were frendly, there was a lift which was great for luggage.
The room was on the front so looked onto the street, this was a bit noisey especially early mornings with bin collections. The room and bathroom were very clean and serviced well every day however very small.

This was a great little hotel in a superb location. The rooms were very small, which is the norm for this type of hotel in Paris, but spotlessly clean and had air conditioning. We had two rooms at the front of the hotel, which were very noisy all night, so in future I would ask for rooms at the back of the hotel. It was fun though being able to look out of the windows and see the world going by!

The staff were couteous and helpful.
