“Feeling like a real Parisian!”
Reviewed January 1, 2014

By far one of my favorite days in Paris was just wandering around the Marais. The little streets are so charming and there are hidden treasures everywhere - for example at the southwest corner of the Place des Voges, there is an entrance into a hidden garden! Be sure to check out Rue Francois Miron, no. 11 and 13 for great examples of 14th century Parisian timbered homes. Really it is just a charming area to get lost in for an afternoon!

“A walk around Le marais”
Reviewed January 1, 2014

Ignoring the numerous shops that are located here, walking about the back streets of Le Marais gives you a feel for the stereotypical idea that we have of narrow, crooked, Parisien streets.
There are lots of good shops along the main streets here and a lovely walk from there, through Place de Vosges and just walking aimlesslessly around all of the old street is a delight.
It's a wonderful are photogenic area of Paris that seems to be overlooked at times by the tourists.

“a nice neighborhood to visit - very charming”
Reviewed January 1, 2014

We booked a private tour fo Le Marais through Unique Paris private tour as they recommend it. I had no idea what the marais was, but I was not disappointed, this neighborhood is charming, small streets, lots of small shops and good restaurants/ food shops. It is paris as you imagine it.

“The real heart of Paris”
Reviewed December 31, 2013

The Marais ('the Marsh') is the real Paris. Becoming trendified, but still the best place to wander arpund. The northern end (3rd) is best - s end (4th) now touristy, but Place des Vosges a must for its beauty. Ignore the overpriced crowded Left Bank.
