“Oldest Part of Paris, yet still one of the best”

I love this part of the city. The shopping is the best and the best priced. The diversity of the neighborhood can't be beat and there is a cafe or two on every street. My wife and I always seem to find something cool and unique to buy in the Marais. You won't go broke shopping here like you might at the Place Vendome. Don't miss it!!

“Artsy”

Originally the jewish quarter, this area reminds me much of Soho in New York city. Extremely eclectic with high end shops and original boutiques. Also you may trip over one of the most famous falafel shops in Paris. Just ask, where it is, you won't regret it. Bon Apetit.

“Nice Local Atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 15, 2013

Our hotel was on Champs-Elysees which is a very touristy area. So, the day we ventured into the Marais district we were pleasantly happy! This seemed to be more of a local atmosphere although filled with many boutiques. This area had the best shopping in Paris...and the reason I say best is because the boutiques had some really cute clothes at more affordable prices compared to the shops in the St. Germaine area. We spent an entire day here. You will want to walk up and down every cobblestone street. Each street had cafes, boutiques and gardens. This neighborhood provided local flavor and less touristy fare. When I return to Paris, I will stay in this district.

“Must be - and must see”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 15, 2013

What to say about Marais? Perfect for walking, taking small shopping-trips or just a little drink. Place des Vosges is a beauty, the handsome - and gay, Louis XIII is still sitting on his horse. Take some hours in Musée Carnavalet - free entrance, walk the narrow streets - when the pavement shines like silver. Le Marais is crowdy on week-ends, but I will always return. Always.

“Great district! My favorite!!”

My absolute favorite when it comes to Paris. Our guide was a local from here so she explained us the real parisian vibe through the streets of the magnificent gay jewish quarter.
