Owner description: Located on a land-filled swamp, this revitalized neighborhood, once a center of high culture, fell into disrepair following the French Revolution, but has regained prominence.

Full of shops and cafes. Also full of people... Nice to walk through this quarter, although you might want to avoid late Fridays...

This is a perfect place to wander and soak up the Parisian atmosphere. Home to the Picasso Museum and the Bastille Market, also lots of shops, cafes and restaurants and street entertainers.

Always a teat to wander round the shops in the Marais District. Some visual gems although not kind to your wallet:-)

Get off the streets and look inside some of the mansions if you can. The home of Henri Mansard is open to give you a glimpse.

On our first morning we found a small Parisian market where we ate the best baguette sandwich I have ever tasted . We stayed at Les Jardins du Marais hotel which is in a good location for walking and metro. We also went to the flea market in the Villages de St. Paul - a must see if you love that kind of thing.
I found the people to be very friendly and would stay there again.
