This hostel is a perfect place to stay in Paris if you're backpacking or traveling on the cheap. Our room was very small but was a perfect little room for two people and offered a nice private place in contrast to the business of Paris. I didn't notice any annoying noises and the staff was friendly and helpful. Also, the morning breakfast room seems to be a perfect place to meet other travelers or at least just realize the diversity of people staying at the hostel. Location was great; rather close to the sketchy Pigalle district but even closer to the Metro stations so there was little cause for worry. Also, tons of people were eating at restaurants nearby until late, so the neighbor wasn't really "dark and deserted."
The only drawbacks, I would say, were that there is a small hidden fee of 2 Euros per person per day and the internet went out while there, so we weren't able to use it a lot. Also, we waited a while for our room to be prepared but the hostel let us keep our bags there while we walked around the city, so it was all good.
All in all, a good value in Paris...very cozy.More
