“Lovely experience for our short stay!”
Reviewed August 7, 2012

We stayed at the Mon Hotel after finding a great deal on Jetsetter. We had an early departure in the morning but preferred to make the effort to stay in Paris again instead of by the airport. Good call! The location of the hotel was perfect - right off the main part of the Champs Elysses - and a nice change from our previous hotel on the left bank.

Check in was efficient and the staff extremely pleasant. She had several great restaurant suggestions for us. The room was very well appointed with modern decor. As per usual in Paris, the room itself was tiny. There was not even a closet, but instead a bench with drawers with a hanging rod over it - I thought this was a great idea, but might be a problem if you are staying for longer and have a lot of clothes to unpack. As expected, the bathroom was also tiny - no way for two people to be going in and out. But - Lanvin products, oooh la la! I stole them all...

At checkout, we asked the concierge to help us get a cab. It proved difficult since it was rush hour, but he was a bulldog in his efforts and finally found one to come after seven phone calls.

Very pleasant stay - would recommend for business or a short stay alone or as a couple. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We had a superior room (102), it was quite large for Paris standards and nicely decorated. Our friend had the top room type (101) and it was very large with a huge open air bathroom.

The hotel is on a quiet street a few blocks from the Arc de Triomphe on the opposite side from Champs Elysees. There is not a lot of cafes or restaurants very close to the hotel, but plenty 5-10 min walk, the Argentine train station is very close as well, so getting anywhere in Paris is easy.

We did not get a chance to eat or drink at the hotel restaurant.

Room Tip: Room 101 & 102 were both nice, with views out to the quiet street.

Enjoyed our stay very much, and were generally pleasantly suprised as this hotel was a good value for Paris. Hotel has lots of charm with a new and clean feel to the rooms. Staff was friendly and always willing to fill an ice bucket at the bar downstairs for our room. Rooms with balconies on the 6th floor give you a real feel of living in Paris. Only a 5 minute walk to Arc De Triomphe or nice street with restaurants etc (backing on to Avenue Foch). Only 2 issues were nobody appeared to be using the restaurant-bar, so we went to nice convenience store less than 5 minute walk from hotel and coffee bar on same street and elevator is not large enough for 2 adults and luggage or more than 2 adults, so families have to go in 2 shifts.

Room Tip: Rooms on top (6th) floor had nice balconies and were quiet

Conveniently located hotel. Funky feel - each floor has a differente colour, the corridors are dark, with dark carpets, stairs around the elevator. Very 19th century Paris.

PROS: Perfectly close to the Métro (Argentine station), very near Champs Elysées, Arc de Triomphe, etc. Quiet road, usually no noise (other than the occasional noisy neighbour). Good toiletries. Comfortable bed. Good light to read. Excellent Parisian feel to the room. Tablet PC with 3G connection available for rent for a modest fee.

CONS: Tiny room. Small bathroom, funny paint on otherwise perfect tiling. Reception personnel will happily ignore you.

If you are looking for a central, chic boutique with excellent service and lovely accommodations, this is the place for you!

Location is just off of the Arc de Triomphe, so you are right next to the start of the Champs-Elysees (main shopping promenade). You can walk to the Seine River/Eiffel Tower, etc. in 15 minutes. The location is very residential, but there are great little corner cafes and squares nearby that give it a very charming, home away from home feeling - you are not in the touristy hustle bustle part of the city which is nice.

Rooms are of course "cozy" like most of Paris, so don't come with unrealistic expectations of spacious accommodations. However, my favorite part about these rooms is that many have little balconies with gorgeous views of historic rooftops and beautiful architecture. We absolutely loved our corner room (601) which had two small terraces. The room is also well equipped with modern bathroom finishes, iPod dock, espresso machine, etc.

Breakfast includes full American buffet (eggs, pancakes, etc.) and is quote lovely. Staff is wonderful- overall it's a luxurious and chich choice for those looking for an intimate destination close to all Paris offers. Book it!
