Having spent many holidays in different hotels in Paris, I must say that we have been impressed with le Varenne.
The location is splendid, I love the 7th.
Our room was large enough, clear, clean and well decorated.
Beatrix and Stephan have been very helpful and friendly with all our requests.
We'll be back.

Four of us stayed at the hotel for four nights at the beginning of a two week trip to France. The entrance is quite pretty, with a long walkway to the front door. The lobby is small but nicely decorated, with the breakfast area right off the lobby. There is a small elevator. The rooms are smallish - typical Paris - but acceptable. There really is no place to sit except the bed, so use the room primarily for sleeping. The bath was acceptable, with the shower contained in the bath with a clutchy curtain. Breakfast, not included in the room price, was typical and quite good, with omelettes available. The area is reasonably close to Les Invalides and the Seine. There are decent restaurants in the immediate area. Overall a comfortable place to stay. Prices are reasonable for Paris.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking time to post a review about our hotel.
I'm hapy you enjoyed your stay with us even if you had a room not large enough for your comfort.
We usually advise our guest to reserve one of our superior or executive rooms to have more space for a several nights stay. The classics double rooms are comfortable but they have limited space and are sufficient for one or two nights with small luggage.
If you decide to come back please contact me directly and I' ll reserve a large room for your comfort.
Kind regards.

We had the suite on the top floor. It has dormer windows and a low ceiling making it difficult to get into bed without bumping your head. I don't recommend the suite. Outdated decor, but very nice and clean.

Dear Guest,
Thank you very much for your review
I am sincerely sorry that you didn"t enjoy your stay with us.
In fact our suite has been completely renovated this past august. We took great care of the decoration, I'm so sorry it didn't meet your expectations and that you found it outdated. We bought luxury furniture, new carpet, new bedding and very nice marble bathroom, with a big bathtub.
You probably prefer design decoration but this is not the style of our hotel. We have a classic hotel with french XVIIIth century classic decoration in accordance with the historic part of the city where we are located.
Concerning the windows. You mention the dormer windows and the down ceiling. Yes this room is on the top floor of our building which has an attic roof but easy to walk in even if you are tall and it has 3 windows of 1 m² each.
Anyway i'm really happy you said the room was very nice and clean.
We always do our best to satisfy as much as possible our distinguished guests and your reviews help us to progress.
Best regards.

This charming small hotel is five minutes from the Rodin museum, the Paris metro and the seine walk that carries you all the way to notre dame if you chose to walk. We loved it. Very pretty rooms with a lovely bathroom and a separate room for toilet from bath.
The service was superb, the courtyard very pretty. Highly recommended.

We found out after 3 days the air-conditioning was off by the owner because he did not think it was necessary (this was mid September). We had one window in our room with no screens and by keeping the window at night we received mosquito and spiter bites. We complaint to the evening front desk clerk and requested he call the owner the find out how the system could be turned on, but the owner stated it was not essential and did not turn the AC on until the next morning.
I think the location is misrepresented on Agora wed site because the location is isolated and convenient. The only thing that was close was the subway. Your 30 a minute walk to the Eiffel and the center of St Germain. Very quiet area in the middle of Embassy Row with high walls and no architectural features. The internet is painfully slow, and one foreign daytime front desk attendant could appear irritated when asked a question.

Dear Guests,
Thank you for taking time to post a review about our hotel.
I am sincerely sorry that our hotel didn't meet your expectations.
Nevertheless I would like to restore the truth.
It's perfectly true that I turned off the A/C. But you forgot to mention that the temperature went down to 10 ° Celsius for a few days ! Then I immediately stopped the A/C and turned on the central heating. When the weather changed again you asked to the night auditor to turn on the A/C. Sorry again but it was 1 a.m. and I respectfully tell you that I have to sleep sometimes. When I arrived at 7.30 a.m.in the morning the first thing I did was to turn the system on and to connect your room for your comfort.
When you came at the reception in the morning I apologised for the inconvenience. And I decided to offer you a bottle of champagne and some chocolates.
I am so sorry again but I just wanted to describe the complete situation.
Concerning the location of the hotel our guestsusually mention the premium quality of our situation in one of the most upscale are of the city, next to Muséee Rodin and the Invalides.
The information about our location is clear on our website. We never pretented to be next to the Eiffel Tower and Siant Germain. In fact we are just in the middle of these two sites.
You say there are no architectural features, when historic buidings are the only ones to be in Rue de Bourgogne and the Invalides.
Finally you mention that the wifi connection was "painfully slow". Once again I would like to inform you that we have a brand new system (begiinng of august) which works perfectly and the speed of the connectio is 5 Mb.
Kind regards.
