The place is cheap, that much is clear, but our stay was actually perfectly okay. The double bed was two singles pushed together (not a problem really), the bathroom door was a little ill fitting. But beyond minor things like that the room was perfect. Adequately furnished and comfortable we can have no complaints. The staff were friendly and polite, even when we returned late one evening, and were happy for us to leave our bags on the last day. Alongside this the location (in an unexceptional part of Paris) was convenient, with Metro stations, and a very good bakery and supermarket all within five minutes walk.
In short summary, it is cheap (and you wouldn't want to leave passports or the like lying around) but what we got was a comfortable place from which to explore Paris; which when you're on a budget, is what you need.More
