The location is very convenient (near the metro), the staff was very friendly. I did not get to try the food in the hotel as there was a lot of good eateries nearby. Price is a bit on the high end for its amenities. The bathroom and room was good. Only thing was that there was no 'Do not disturb' sign in the room so I could not put it up. On one of the days, housekeeping had accidentally tried to come into the room while I was still inside. Would recommend the hotel to place 'Do not disturb' signs in the room so that those who do not want the rooms made up can have an option so.

Room Tip: Only one lift in the hotel and it takes awhile to come to your floor. Try asking for a lower floor s...

Thank you for your comment. You may have asked at the reception to give you the sign "Do not Disturb", we have them. It is supposed to be in all rooms. I will check with the Maide.
Best regards

My wife and I stayed at Hotel France Albion Oct 30th to Nov 4, 2013. We stayed in room number 60, which is a superior double room. The room is sufficiently spacious and we had a view of the Eiffel tower from our room. We had decided to use public transportation instead of prebooked tours, to get around in Paris and the fact that the hotel was a stone's throw away from 2 metro stations and a bus stop was so convenient. The staff at the hotel was so courteous & helpful and that fact that they spoke english meant that we could have some interesting conversations about life in Paris, food, fashion, the weather and what not. The hotel is less than a five minute walk from Moulin Rouge, something we discovered accidentally when we went for a walk in the neighbourhood. There are quite a few restaurants around and a supermarket right next door for fruits, water etc. The tried the breakfast at the hotel couple of days, decent spread however felt 13 euros was a bit steep, good if you fee lazy to get out of the hotel for your breakfast. Overall loved the experience at the hotel. Would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Paris.

Room Tip: We liked that our room 60 had a view of the Eiffel Tower

We stayed there for a couple of days. Nice location, friendly staff (particularly Henri), but a mouse in the room is a little bit too much for me!!!!!!! We were offered another room, but in the morning there were signs of little animal on the table......

Thank you for your comment. We had a trouble within days ago with a little "stowaway" in the hotel.
I made all to through its away, that's why I did not reply before. I would like to inform you that now, it is resolved.
Unfortunatly, we are in Paris and because of the Seine and sewers that pass under the city, we may still have "visitors" . Be sure we make all year long our Best to have only Guests who pays....Disney even made a Cartoon: Ratatouille!

No public space (ground floor taken up by conference room -- additional source of income), no breakfast room, characterless lobby in need to updating

Exterior of hotel is unimpressive, while Interior spaces are marginal, as a whole dark and uninviting

Staff and 'landlady' have a pretentious attitude not befitting this frowsy budget accommodation)

Keep the safe in your room carefully locked at all times

Dear Guest,
I'm very surprise by your comment. You said your travel was in January 2013, that's a very long time ago, almost one year. Concerning the lobby, we have a conference room on the groud floor and they usually use the bar for the stop at 10 am and 3pm. During the day, they are in the conference room. From 10 years now, the Breakfast room is downstairs (-1) in an old cellar with ancient stones, it is a Buffet Breakfast. For the "decoration" of the lobby, you are right and I have the pleasure to inform you that it will be renoved in 2014. About the safe, the hotel is safety, we have a video secure, a night person 24 hours and we ask to let the key at the reception to be sure our guest doesn't lost it. The safe in the room is a free access, with a code you choose.
Best Regards

My partner and I stayed here for a weekend, and were pleasantly surprised not only by the convenience of the location, but the sheer warmth and friendliness of the staff (particularly Henri). Would recommend to anyone and would certainly stay again.

If you want modern glitz and top of the range fittings, this is not for you. If you can handle charm from the minute you set foot through the door, keep reading. I arrived late and tired for a one-night stop over on my way to Normandy, choosing the hotel purely for location. The hotel receptionist was wonderful, chatty, charming, knowledgeable. He checked SNCF to ensure I had the right time and station for my departure the next morning and despatched me off to a lovely restaurant at the top of the street for a beautiful dinner. My bedroom was small and strangely shaped, but this is Paris. The en suite was also small and strangely shaped, but clean. Although some of the fittings are perhaps a little tired, the hotel has been very sympathetically renovated, with beautiful spiral staircase down to a lovely breakfast room on the lower floor with vaulted stone ceilings. I would definitely choose to stay here again.

This is my second time at the Albion and we stayed for 10 nights in Oct 2013. The next time we return to Paris, we will certainly be back. The rooms are cozy and comfortable, the location very convenient and the staff helpful and professional. Special thanks to Henri and Zorana who went out of their way to making this stay in Paris memorable! Henri fascinated us with facts about Paris and suggested many cool places to visit around the city. If you happen to come across him, chat him up; he’s an amazing guy! Zorana was so helpful in directing us around the neighborhood and goes out of her way to answer every question we had. The Albion really has an excellent team working there and they really do make guests feel welcome and comfortable.

We took advantage of the breakfast on 2 occasions and found it to be ample and filling. It was a good spread of hot food (eggs, bacon, ham) and cold dishes of cold cuts, cheese, bread, butter, yogurt, etc. Most mornings we either woke up too late or wanted to get started on the day early and skipped breakfast. For those who don’t want to spend that amount on breakfast, there are plenty of establishments on Rue Notre-Dame de Lorette and Rue des Martyrs where you can get coffee and a quick bite.

On this stay, our room on the 4th floor faced the street side but we did not find the street noise bothersome. The room had basic amenities like a small refrigerator, safe for valuables, and AC unit, which helped make it more comfortable as Paris was surprisingly warm when we were there in late October. The bathroom was clean with nice towels, the beds comfortable and overall the room had a very cozy feel. Perhaps my only complaint about the room was the wifi signal was very weak on the 4th floor but it wasn’t a big deal, as I just went down to the lobby to send emails and surf the web.

The location of the hotel is very convenient. There are 2 metro stations in close walking distance, and the 67 bus stop is right around the corner so we were able to get around very easily. As for food, there is a Carrefour right across the street so we were able to buy drinks and snacks and plenty of restaurants and bakeries on Rue des Martyrs.

We will certainly be back to Paris for another visit and we will stay at the Albion.
