Well that;s the external colour! Inside a modern decor but discrete. Room 40 facing the courtyard was quiet and well equipped for our short stay. Breakfast in the cellar basement much better than the description. Very friendly and helpful reception staff, and hotel well located for central Paris. Don't be put off by French 2* category - it functions much higher. Good value for city centre hotel. we would definitely use again.

Room Tip: Paying more for rear facing rooms is quieter

After reading the comments on TA about the number of failed pick up arrangements at CDG (Paris Airport) we decide that we (two couples) would take a local taxi to our hotel. The 30 minute drive was smooth and cost Eu 50, much cheaper than expected. To clarify this fast trip our travelling time was around 10.00 pm in the evening.

The Hotel Albion France was the ‘right’ price for our budget. We stayed there twice, once for three nights at the start of our holiday, and the second time for one night, at the end of the holiday, before flying home. The rooms (superior) were smaller than anticipated, but this is Paris.
Our first stay was in room 60, (on the top floor, where we could just see the top of the Eiffel Tower) and at the end of the holiday we stayed in room 50 (now view of the tower). Our friends stayed in the same rooms, but the other way around – i.e for them it was 50, followed by 60. The rooms were clean and the showers worked well. The bathroom supplies were adequate, the coffee / tea making facilities were OK, but our friends had a problem gaining milk for their hot drink, either fresh or powdered, plus they asked for a small extension cord to allow their kettle to be boiled on the desk, rather than on the floor. They never did get the extension cord, so when my wife & I were allocated room 50 for the second stay, I checked to see if the cord had been delivered – it had, but this was three weeks later.
Breakfast was good and tasty. We did eat out one day, to compare like with like, and found that the Albion was cheaper than the local cafe when taking everything in to account. The Albion’s staff were polite, but not overly friendly.
The lift is just large enough for two adults with their suitcases. But, if you wish to use the lift around 6.30 am make sure they are not processing laundry or dirty dishes, as it took my wife and I ten minutes to gain access to the lift on the 5th floor. It would have been quicker for us to walk down the stairs, but as we had our suitcases this was not an option.
The location of the Albion was very good as it allowed us to walk to most places. A brisk 40 minute walk took us to the Arc de Triomphe . We could have used the metro (St George), which is quite close to the hotel, but we wanted exercise and to ‘feel’ Paris.

On leaving the Albion the first time, I noticed an advert on the reception desk for Eu 18 per person, pick-up from the hotel to the airport. I asked if this was a dedicated pick-up for the four of us (Eu 72) to the airport, (I stressed that it would not be a multiple pick up) and was told it would be, so I paid a deposit of Eu 40.00.
On leaving the second time (after the delay in the lift) a small minibus pulled up and we loaded our suitcases and climbed in, expecting a smooth ride to the airport. Wrong, we did a tour of Paris while picking up additional passengers from three other stops. As it was so early in the morning, and it was a Saturday, it would have been cheaper and quicker to use a regular taxi than this ‘dedicated’ transport. In fact, from the last pick-up, near Garde de Nord, to Charles de Gaul airport, took only 30 minutes as the roads were so quiet.
The trip from the Albion to CDG took over an hour. Fortunately we had allowed extra time ‘just in case’, but we had not factored in the other pick-ups because of what I had been told by the Albion staff member. By the time we had passed through check-in, emigration and security there was little time to spare for our 9.30 am flight. BTW – the balance of the Eu 72 had to be paid to the driver, not the hotel.

Room Tip: Room 60 was a little larger than room 50.

I've spent 7 nights at this hotel from 23/09/2012 to 30/09/2012. All in all it is good - incl the staff who were very helpful in giving us suggestions on trips and transport. We booked two rooms - one single & one twin & they happen to be on the 6th floor-61 & 62. However they are VERY small & the double bed room had a dangerous beam from the ceiling to the floor...pity I didn't manage to take a photo of this room. The 'buffet breakfast' was ok but not variable...every day always the same. However the hotel is centrally located with the metro very near (look for metro St.Georges which is only 2mins away on foot). All in all, this hotel is ok but it would have been better if we were given better rooms ..not what appeared the attic !

The rooms are not big but comfortable. The location is good, with carrefour just across the road. There are several eating places, including japanese, chinese and korean restaurants. The korean one is excellent and affordable. The metro is just 2-3 min walk and Mont Mart is about 15 min away. overall it is good value for money considering that Paris is quite an expensive place.

We spent three nights at the France Albion hotel and it was perfect for a short stay. The room was immaculately clean and, though on the smaller side, had a good size bathroom with bath. Our room (14) also had air conditioning, which worked well, and there was access to free wi-fi and a television with satellite channels.

The hotel is located on a pleasant street close to the Opera House, within easy reach of several metro stations. We didn't have breakfast which, at 13 euros, seemed expensive - there are several local cafes where you can get a coffee, croissant and orange juice for between 5 to 7 euros. If you're travelling by Eurostar then I'd recommend taking bus 43 or 26 from Gare de Nord - ten minutes to the church Notre Dame de Lorette from where it's a very short walk to the hotel. Much easier than struggling with luggage on the Paris Metro.
