“Nice hotel in a good location”
Reviewed June 24, 2012

Spent 3 nights at the hotel Crimee. First of all, the hotel was easy to find by car. We could use the private parking place behind the hotel (free of charge), so that was a big plus for us because parking in Paris can be quite difficult. You can't reserve a place, it is based on who comes first. We were in the low season, so there were a couple of places available.

The hotel is perfect for travelling with the metro, there is a station just around the corner which brings you to the center in about 20 min. The area is also nice with lots of bakeries and cafe's.

The hotel looked nice from the outside and the lobby also looked welcoming. The receptionist was also really nice (and spoke good english). The room we had was quit small and the bathroom was TINY. You could hardly turn around in it. This was even for Paris standards really small!

The room was really clean and was kept this way. The beds were okay for a couple of nights, but maybe not for a longer stay. Our room was facing the street so it could be noisy at times. But that was the only noise we heard, the hotel was fully booked when we were there, and we never heard our neighbours.

We paid E90,- per night, which I think is a fair price for what you get.

Our room was very small - there were two single beds pushed together, because there wouldn't have been room to separate them! There was also not really any floor space for our luggage, as there was only the entryway and then just enough room to walk around the bed. The bathroom was also very small and looked like it could do with some updating. Regardless, it would be fine for shorter stays, and we only stayed one night which was fine.

The main thing that both of us noticed is that the beds are super comfy! The mattresses are soft and cozy, and so are the blankets and pillows, which added up to a very comfortable night's sleep.

The hotel was average, the breakfast critical :) We spent here just two nights in August 2011, the district was under massive reconstruction, we were having problems with the traffic, but the metro was just a couple of meters away.

I recommend it for short stays.

This is my third visit at hotel Crimée in less than a year. Coming from London, I frequently take Eurostar and find the proximity to Gare du Nord (but without the hustle and bustle of a place near a big train station) very convenient. The taxi ride is short and costs about 7.50 euros with my big suitcase.
During this visit I was on a higher floor, in a quiet room which for me is a luxury, especially in Paris. It also had two relatively large windows, which made the room luminous and less stuffy than other hotels of this size can be. My bathroom had only a shower (I am usually a bath person), but the toilet was separate and honestly I did not miss the bath.
I was also impressed by the attitude of the staff (reception & breakfast), which I found very professional and helpful, they called my taxi promptly, even went outside to help with my suitcase, as well as the charming couple who make this a true and rare family hotel. Would I stay again? Of course.

I recently enjoyed an excellent long weekend staying in this small family run hotel in the 19th arrondisment. The double-bedded room was well-sized by Paris standards and very quiet and I slept well in the comfortable bed which had good quality linen.

The staff were extremely helpful and friendful and made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was generous with a good choice of pastries and bread together with a selection of savoury items.

The hotel's location is also extremely good; whilst it is not in one of the usual tourist areas, it is only 2 minutes from the Metro station and surrounded by interesting bars and local restaurants. It is located in an extremely authentic (i.e. not touristy) area which I enjoyed exploring and is very close to one of Paris's picturesque canals with its lively waterside cafes and street art.

Overall I would recommend this hotel very highly and will return. Please note, it is not in area where you will find the tourist attractions and boutiques, but as a comfortable quiet hotel where you can experience real Paris and at the same time use a base for exploration, it is great.

We read the reviews online and found the place to be exactly as described. Online booking was smooth. Location was the best part of the hotel. Took us 30 mins by cab. Had no problems reaching the hotel. Costed about 52 Euros (2 extra for the large suitcases). Even though we arrived at around 1100, we were allowed to check in (was officially noon). Room was compact and same for the bathroom. They are small however, apart from that nothing else to complain. Wifi was good. Breakfast was standard. Having the Metro station just across the street was a great benefit. The hotel staff were very helpful. We stayed for just 2 days and had no problems with respect to the hotel. It is ideal if your budget isnt lavish and if your looking for comfort and not so much on luxury. Best place to stay just for sight-seeing. While leaving, the hotel staff informed us about the airport drop facility for a fixed cost of 55 euros. We took that as we didn't know how the traffic would be and that the cost difference from the initial journey (to the hotel) was hardly anything. Would love to stay in the hotel again.

This was our third visit to Hotel Crimee. Many of the rooms have recently been refurbished and appear in well coordinated colors and with clean and practical bath rooms. We stayed at the top towards the back yard. Very quiet. I noticed a very good bed and for a change pillows I could sleep on. The rooms in from of the hotel can be noisy especially on weekends, so be sure to ask if you want a quiet room. The personnel is pleasant and helpful.
The breakfast room has been changed as well and is welcoming.
The hotel is well located a short walk from the Crimee metro station. Just a short hop to Gare du Nord and the Eurostar to London.

Room Tip: Quiet rooms on higher floors and in the back.
