Unlike stated in the booking, this hotel had no refrigerator in the room, there was no climate control (air con) or a safety deposit box available. They state that they provide free Wi-fi, but this did not work (funny how there is a pay-for-use internet station in their reception!). After almost a day of complaints they provided a different internet code to the one which they initially provided! We had to leave the window open in an attempt to cool down, but the rough area was very noisy which meant that we had little to no sleep. They charge extra for (a poor) breakfast (cheap cereals & water-mixed 'juice'). The area is definately not the greatest - many drunks/homeless people on the streets and it gets very noisy at night. They squeezed a camping bed into an already small double room in order to create a 'triple', which left no walking space in the room whatsoever.
Out of 30 hotels/ B & B's on a 42 day trip this one was by far the worst.

Hotel Coypel did not follow the stipulations that was written on the detailed information written at the email booking confirmation. My family (me, wife and three kids -aged 5, 2 and 3 months) arrived there and were asked to book for another double room because as this would violate certain France police rules as insisted by the receptionist. I showed her the email booking confirmation containing the information below and I even shown the note that I will be coming with three children. As the children were already tired from the travel (specially the enfant), I had no choice but to pay for extra room so that the children can rest.

My frustration is that I had booked one week and advance and no one informed me that the detailed information is not applicable. The receptionist even suggested that I complain easytobook for not being aware of France rules/policies on hotels. Poor service.

The description:
This Family Triple Room is equipped with the below listed facilities.

Child policy / extra beds:
1 child(-ren) up to 3 year(-s) old can stay free of charge when using existing beds.
1 child(-ren) up to 3 year(-s) old can stay in cots free of charge (upon request).
1 older child(-ren) or adult(-s) are charged € 16.00 per night, per person, for extra beds. Extra beds are available on request.
Maximum capacity of extra beds/baby cots in a room is 1.

Room facilities: Additional beds - upon request, Bath, Early check-in, Hairdryer, Heating, Non-smoking room, Private Bathroom, Satellite TV, Shower, Smoking room, Soundproof room, Telephone, Television, Toilet, Wake-up calls, Wi-Fi Internet free of charge, Work desk

Message/request to the hotel (in English please)

if you come to Paris for a short trip, you will find a friendly but an average hotel at Place d'Italie which is called Hotel Coypel. Their staff are helpful and answer your questions politely. Hotel rooms are small but clean. Mini refrigerator and hair dryer are avaliable in the room. Bathroom supplementaries were enough for our three-day-trip. However breakfast is expensive and you can easily find small markets in the neighbourhood.

The room is clean and well-aired (though there was some cigarette smell and there is no air conditioning, but the temperature in France even in high summer is mild), and the hotel is conveniently located near a metro station and lots of options of restaurants. There is a lift, which is a relief and rarity in small hotels in Europe. However, the room is really small and if you're big and tall you won't fit the shower cabin. The staff was very polite and helpful, especially the guy in the day shift, who spoke very good English and gave us some nice tips. I didn't try their breakfast.
