16 seats - that's it

1 menu of 4 or 5 dishes (one of the few decisions you need to make)

Japanese owner-chef from Saitama (just north of Tokyo)

Cuisine is French with perhaps a bit of fusion thrown in

Kitchen is part of the dining room - what you see is what you get

Small wine list but fair value.

Seats are a bit tight but good enough.

Decor is basic - you can leave your tux and ball gown at home.

Definitely I will go back.

Plan to spend 50pp without wine

This small intimate restaurant is called La Table D'Akihiro. The two set menus are both superb. I would recommend the the menu with the higher number of dishes because they are so good! The Chef and table server were engaging and friendly and recommended perfect wines to accompany the outstanding food. Highly recommend it.

The fish and seafood were outstanding, again. Everything we ordered was superb, freshly made within view of our table in a spotless kitchen and equally spotless dining room. On my favorites list for future visits.

We had a terrific meal at Table d'Aki on our first night in Paris. Our reservations were for 8p, and the restaurant opens at 8p sharp, so there's no need to get there early unless you enjoy standing outside on the sidewalk. As others have mentioned, the place is tiny with 8 tables, and the kitchen is in plain view. Staff consists of one hostess/ waitress and the chef himself.
The menu is all seafood and it's purposely prepared to highlight and accentuate the flavor of the protein, so you'll need to be able to enjoy the taste of fish and all things from the sea. The choices in menu are minimal: the only option, which has to be made without knowing the actual courses is whether you want the petit (4 courses for 52 euros) or the grand menu (5 courses for 65 euros).
Without getting into too much detail, the langostine amuse bouche, second course of sea scallops, and the third course of fish with mushrooms were exceptional: each were perfectly seasoned and cooked, and then combined masterfully with broths, foams, or sauces. I still can't find fault with any of them.
The fourth course was probably great, but fell short after having to follow the first three courses. Dessert was completely forgettable.
They have a small and inexpensive selection of wines, which could be paired with the food a bit better, but that may not be a realistic option since the menu changes daily and the business is so small.
Without question, this food was exceptional, and it will take time to find a place with fresher, better-prepared seafood.
