“Good wholesome food”
Reviewed March 12, 2014 via mobile

We went around 5pm to have an afternoon snack and being a bit jet lagged we ended up having our dinner.

The pumpkin soup was delicious served with generous slices of ham and nutty bread.

The prawn and avocado salad was huge. Expecting an appetizer size serving with a few greens and I was pleasantly surprised by the array of salad and almost a whole sliced avocado ripen to perfection. The prawns themselves were large but a little bland making me think they might have been frozen. Coming from a town on the coast I might be a bit spoilt when it comes to seafood. The seafood sauce made up for any lack of flavor in the prawns.

Great for good wholesome food.

“Fresh, Beautiful, tasteful food.”
Reviewed February 7, 2014

There is a reason why this restaurant is ALWAYS packed with locals. The food is reasonably priced and delicious! If you are like me and come to Paris for food and wine, this is a must visit.

On a logistical note: If you are in Paris for the food experience, pick this for lunch and choose somewhere a little more upscale for dinner.

“The BEST of the best!”
Reviewed January 16, 2014

Words cannot describe the 'excellence' of our experience at Bread and Roses. During our one week stay in Paris, we had a meal there almost every day -- either breakfast or lunch. The baked goods were so fresh that they almost melted in your mouth. The salads and quiches could not have been more outstanding and were unequalled in quality and taste. Added to all of the above was a staff that was attentive and courteous in every manner. Worth EVERY euro! Wish they could open an annex in Boston!!

“Getting a little overpriced”
Reviewed December 8, 2013

We ate here a lot in 2008, so were eager to go back. However, time has dulled the whole B&R proposition. My glass of wine wasn't interesting. Anja's asparagus quiche was so cheesy she (who loves cheese) couldn't finish it. And, the prices were much higher (as we think we remember). I will say my mushroom quiche excellent, the bread as well, and service was quite good. All in all, not bad. But not as memorable as before.
