The Egyptian Obelisque de Louxor is clearly visible on the Champs-Elysees in Paris when walking by the Louvre. Exquisitely carved amd about 3,000 years old one of a pair originally sitting at the temple of Luxor in Egypt. A gift to Paris.
One of Napoleon's stolen treasures from Egypt, this ancient tower sits in the middle of a traffic circle. Lots of noise and pollution, maybe not a suitable place for a piece of history?

Be sure to get close to see all the inscriptions on it. I came upon this as I was walking to the Louvre. If you are into photography, be sure to include the Eiffel Tower in the background to make a nice composition- sort of looking towards the West. I used my 24-70mm lens for the shot. Depending how close you get, the wider angle lens you need. But, there is plenty of space to walk back if you do not have a wide angle lens.
Its worth a look but nothing mind blowing. But the view looking up the Champs E. is worthwhile.
Also the square around it is great on Bastille day!Great military processions
