The "very good" rating is definitely price dependent. As most of the other reviews mention, it's very close to Gare du Nord. Its location makes it not only accessible to all of Paris, but most of the rest of France and Europe. It's the Paris end of the Chunnel train.

The first time American visitor (not just to this hotel but to Europe) has to be aware of the differences between what an American is used to and what they will find in Europe. The wifi was free and only worked on the ground floor. The lift is a one person one suitcase affair. My wife and I had to go up separately.

Our room was very clean but very very small. It had a small desk and clothes hanging area. I was surprised to find a safe in the room. Just big enough for the laptop and iPad. The shower was probably the world's smallest. But the bathroom was also very clean. The rooms were also surprisingly quiet.

The over riding theme is - it's all much smaller than we're used to.

Very close to Gare du Nord rail station, small and very friendly staff "Leah was the standout" Leah remembered me from my previous visit and it was great to see a smiling and friendly face behind the desk.
The hostel has rooms upto 5 guests and all have ensuite bathrooms, much better than sharing with 20 or 30 other guests like some hostels. It has a kitchen for food prep. The common area is not huge but has free wifi... It's defiantly a great place to stay, the area is safe and there is lots of restaurants to dine if you would prefer not to cook yourself....

Room Tip: Book early as this hostel sells out over weekends and prices climb the more bookings that they have, but it's a great place to stay, and better than some hotels in Paris.....

The location is very good: the hostel is next to "Gare du Nord" and the underground, so from here you can reach every important place in Paris! Besides you can go on foot to Montmartre because it's ten minutes away.
The stuff is nice and helpful, they can speak english.
The hostel is very clean and the rooms are a little small but it's ok because I usually use the accommodation only to rest after a long day spent around the city that I'm visiting.
The price is great if you consider that you're in Paris. Really the best.

The room was small but I didn't need more for 1 night.
It had a T.V and a clean, small bathroom with a shower.
The view from out the window was some kind of courtyard and not the street :)
The location was good, near to Gare du Nord. It's not the best location but it's close to subway and trains.
Staff was very friendly and willing to help anytime.
I would go back because it's not too expensive and okay.
