“L'Orangerie...a revelation”
Reviewed August 11, 2014

I visited L'Orangerie about 30 years ago and enjoyed it greatly. This time, it was a revelation! The Monet Water Lilies murals are obviously a highlight, but the real jewel in the exhibits is downstairs, in the Collection of Jean Walter and Paul Guillaume. This collection of paintings from the last 100+ years or so was nothing short of spectacular. Renoir, Picasso, Cezanne, Sisley, Matisse, Laurencin, Modigliani...the list goes on and on. L'Orangerie is arge enough to give you an amazingly wonderful view of this era of painting, yet small enough so you won't suffer "museum feet." For the next few months, Renoir's final painting is on loan and displayed. You won't regret spending an hour or so here...well worth it!

“Waterlilies to sooth your soul”
Reviewed August 11, 2014

Travelling with two teenagers and a husband who can take or leave (preferably leave) galleries I wanted our week in Paris to include one galler - and choose this as : a) Monet's waterlilies
b) small and compact. Everyone loved the waterlilies - they really will take your breath away and small is beautiful!

A small but lovely museum containing Monet's beautiful Waterlilly series. Also on display, a small but very interesting collection of art including Picasso, Rousseau and Renoir.

“Small, Gorgeous”
Reviewed August 10, 2014

We got the package of the l'Orangerie and Musee d'Orsay ticket, and I highly recommend it. The bottom level of this museum is nice, but the main attraction, Monet's lilies, is spectacular. My family felt like this was one of the less crowded places in paris, yet just as worth seeing. The paintings will take your breath away! There's nothing like it...

“A pretty little place to spend a couple of hours”
Reviewed August 10, 2014

The Monet Nymphaea are lovely, but the rest of the museum is very pretty as well. Makes for a beautiful afternoon. The impressionist beauty continues as you walk around the beautiful gardens outside, and stroll along the Champs Elysses.
