We wanted to visit Musee de l'orangerie to see the large Monet paintings of the waterlillies, willows etc. And they did not disappoint! Wow!
But there is more at this musee, which we also enjoyed. Downstairs was a nice display of paintings by impressionists and contemporaires.
The thing to watch out for is the queues. The line gets very long quite early... even in winter when we visited. On our first attempt, the line was estimated at 1.5 - 2 hrs. On our second attempt, we arrived at the musee at opening time on a Sunday morning - there was practically no queue - but within an hour, it started to build again.
I noticed that holders of Paris museum passes, seemed to have a shorter, separate queue ... so might be worth a thought.
