Even if you only had 30 minutes, this is the place to visit.
I love the Musee de l'Orangerie. It's a happy space and quite easy to navigate. It's a must see for anyone coming to Paris. For those who say, I don't want to spend an entire day indoors, waiting in line, with tourists, etc. THIS is the place for you. If you love the impressionists but can't afford a day at the D'Orsay, this is your musee.
The l'Orangerie, was built to house the most amazing water lily paintings by Monet. His canvases grace the curved walls of two rooms. After you discover the masterpieces, wander downstairs to find see the permanent collection or an exhibition which might be on display. Again, you can make your visit last 30 minutes or two hours, the choice is yours. It's also part of the Musee Pass, which means you can zip past all the lines!
The lines are short and move fast. The space is bright and the best part of all, depart the l'Orangerie and spend the afternoon in the Tuileries wandering among the floral jardins, eating gelato and finding the GIANT hidden tree sculpture by the famous Italian artist Giuseppe Penone
