“great and friendly hotel”
Reviewed July 24, 2013

I stayed in the Apollon with my young daughter. The room was great for the two of us. We returned quite late some nights and it was convenient having the Metro station in a one minute walking distance from the hotel, even though the surrounding is quite safe. Nearby cafes and supermarkets, as well. The stuff was super friendly and helpful and helped us with every question or request we had. The morning clerk told us about the 14th of July concert and firework show and saved us from going to Versaille on the wrong day when it was closed!! I want to thank him again!! Great free Wi-FI in the rooms. I would love to come again.

Dear travelers,
Hi from Apollon Montparnasse Hotel.
Thank you very much for your very nice comment.
It was a great pleasure for us to learn that you had spent a so lovely stay at our house, and this, thanks to room comfort, front desk staff helpfulness and friendliness.
That's true, this is a great advantage for our hotel to be located in a safe area, which has all the facilities required by our guests: a metro station (Pernety, line 13 that drives you to the heart of Paris by around 5 or 10 minutes), local shops and good French restaurants, cafés all around.
We are waiting for your coming back to our hotel, for your next trip to Paris.
With kindest regards,
Emmanuel

We stayed here in the early summer for 4 days when it was really hot - the hotel was an oasis from the busy Parisian streets. The air conditioning was incredibly useful and much needed!

We had breakfast at the hotel every morning and it was perfect. There was an array of fresh fruit & fresh pastries every morning, and hot drinks made for you by the very friendly and helpful staff. It was a continental breakfast with bells on.

The rooms were kept incredibly clean and there were brilliant facilities - one night we had a problem with a bedroom window and it was fixed before we got back from our dinner. Once the windows are closed you can only hear a gentle buzz of the streets, we all slept faultlessly throughout the stay.

On top of this we found the location brilliant, it had a village feel, there were plenty of interesting shops nearby and only a short walk to some fantastic restaurants. I would highly recommend L'Envie - there's a quirky and intimate atmosphere inside and, not to mention, incredible food.

This is a sophisticated hotel, our trip was a family holiday with my husband and 17 year old daughter. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to young families (but I also wouldn't recommend Paris to young families).

However what made this hotel for us was the quality of staff. They went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The receptionists were always on hand to give advice about seeing the sites and transport. There was really useful information provided at the hotel about directions and where to eat nearby which is just what a tired tourist needs!

I would really love to come back to this hotel, and to Paris. This trip has inspired us to do a tour of Europe's cities, I can only hope the other Hotels we visit is as nice as this one!

Room Tip: The higher up the better the view - there's a lift so don't worry about climbing the stairs!

Dear guests,
Good afternoon from Apollon Montparnasse Hotel.
That was so kind from you to write for us this excellent message, highly encouraging for our whole team, and many thanks for it.
We were so delighted to learn that the quality of our services (accommodation with renovated, clean and comfortable rooms, breakfast with fresh products, welcoming service helpfulness) and our ideal localization (nearby Pernety metro station, with a living village atmosphere, thanks to its numerous restaurants and shops, far away from the very busy touristic of Paris areas, but reachable with metro) satisfied all your expectations.
We will be very glad to welcome you again at our house, when you come back to Paris, with the same satisfaction.
With warmest regards,
Emmanuel

We spent 7 nights at this location, it was a special visit to Paris since I proposed to my girlfriend. As soon as we arrived to the hotel we were greeted with smiles until we left. Emmanuel efficient responses to our emails before we made a reservation was very impressive. The best part of our stay is Joël and Alain, they provided us with an excellent service as well as ideas of things to do and where to go. Joel booked a magnificent trip to Bruges for sheli and I. All the restaurant recommended by the two of them were excellent. We will definitely recommend this hotel to our friends and family, and we will definitely come back.

We were fortunate to find this hotel for our 7-day first-time visit to Paris. Adjoining rooms with comfortable beds in both on the 5th floor overlooking a courtyard. Of course the rooms are small (cozy) ... it's Paris, but the rates were reasonable. For a family of four: 2 adults & 2 kids (5 and 11), this place works quite well. Joel and Emmanuel were awesome. Always helpful with great tips for a tourist in Paris.

Metro is a minute or so away and across the street from a Bistro where we ate a few times. Bought the 5-day pass instead of multiple carnets at Emmanuel's recommendation.

One street over from the hotel is loaded with shops and various eateries. Everything you could need in one small area.

Only real problem was some fool lighting fireworks around bedtime for a few nights. Thought they were gunshots at first. Mildly annoying, but issue was lessened by shutting the windows.

Don't be put off by being in the 14th Arr. It's central to everything you'd want to see with added convenience of getting there easily by Metro.

Hi from Apollon Montparnasse Hotel, dear travelers.
We want to thank you very much for your very encouraging message.
It is highly rejoicing for us to learn that you have kept a very good souvenir of your stay among us with comfortable and reasonably rated.
You, perfectly, understood that rooms size is not the only one important point for making a good stay, and is very common in Paris and, even in the whole Europe.
What our guests appreciate most, are the following elements: an ideal geographic localization nearby metro station and staff helpfulness. Pernety area, which numerous shops and restaurants, looks like a living village, and is very well deserved by metro line 13 that unable our guests to reach the heart of Paris very quickly. Our team always tries to do their best in helping guests to spend a very good stay in our city and to satisfy all their expectations.
We are looking forward to welcoming you among us, for your next trip to Paris.
With warmest regards,
Emmanuel

Best of all, really appreciated several good nights' sleep in the comfortable double bed in #302, a corner room with 2 windows which blocked out street noise when shut at night. Nicely refurbished room and modernized bathroom with shower, including shower pic. However, the room was so tiny I had to strategize where to place my luggage. Beginning with my online reservation and throughout my 3-night stay, Joel at the front desk was outstanding. Had never stayed in Montparnasse before. Walked to Jardin du Luxembourg the first night. 1st day trip -- took the Metro, 1 block away, to Gare St.-Lazare for a 45-min. train to Giverny. 2nd day trip -- walked to Gare Montparnasse, a few blocks away, for a 25-min. train to Versailles. Enjoyed vegetarian curry at Himalaya on nearby Rue de la Gaite, chuck full of restaurants, near Cimetiere du Montparnasse. Also enjoyed the creamiest vegetarian pilaf ever, with fresh mushrooms, carrots, and peas, at L'Envie, 1 block from Hotel next to the Metro station. The Hotel continental breakfast was fine, despite lacking the fresh fruit I'd enjoyed in Montpellier. Post Office is conveniently located next door. You can reserve an airport shuttle to and from CDG, 26E-65E, depending on whether you're alone or sharing the van with others.

Room Tip: Request a room on an upper floor or away from the street if you need quiet. I'm a light sleeper...

Dear guests,
Good afternoon from Apollon Montparnasse Hotel.
Thank you for you comment about your stay at our hotel.
We recognize that our rooms are not very big, but you need to know that this is a very frequent thing in Paris and in each European big city; we cannot do anything else, unfortunately.
Nethertheless, you liked our new design and refine renovation, and the shower cubicle comfort, in addition to our work team helpfulness, with all the recommendations and inquiries about good restaurants all around, and all the things to be visited in our district, such as Montparnasse, and shuttle pick up service.
Regarding our breakfast, we improved it four years ago, with, notably, fresh orange and grapefruit juices.
Satisfying our guests remains our main priority.
Very kind regards,
Emmanuel

Room was unbelievably small. Bed uncomfortable. Bathroom no bigger than a cupboard. Area of Paris was good as close to Mtparnasse railway station. Value for money wasn't there as a small can be acceptable, but a bad bed simply isn't.

Dear guests,
Good afternoon from Apollon Montparnasse Hotel.
We took your message into consideration, and it was for us a pity and a pain to learn your disappointment, but we respect your opinion.
However, you need to know that the size of the rooms and of the buildings in the whole Europe, which is an old continent, is generally smaller than in Australia; we cannot do anything about it.
Our hotel is located in an old building entirely renovated for many years, and architects in Europe have, usually, always made small-sized rooms.
If we, as European citizens, were about to make a stay in Australia, we would get adapted to the dimensions of your country; so, this is a matter of adaptation.
Last months, we renovated all our rooms and our hotel remains reasonably rated. Our guests consider our hotel as one of the best values in Paris left-side, and, differently from your opinion, they like our new decoration, cleanliness and comfort of our rooms.
Always satisfying our guests is, and will always be our main target.
Regards,
Emmanuel
