“Budget hotel in Paris”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

Good budget hotel in ethnically diverse area of Paris. Our room needed refurbishment, but for £ 50.00 per night for a couple it was acceptable. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful . Lots of enthic restaurants close by. Close to Metro for getting around.

Room Tip: Go for theirt "superior" rooms

This is a budget hotel in a good location. Clean and well managed by very helpful staff that speak good english. The hotel is situated between Gare Du Nore and the city centre, 10 minutes walk either way. Its a pleasent walk from the hotel to the centre and you are not straight into the centre so there are shops and bars in the vicinity of the hotel that are much cheaper and give you a feel of the real Paris. As a family of 3 (6 year old child) we stayed here for three nights in one room. The room was very basic but then we knew it would be but it was clean and tidy. We just wanted somewhere to lay our heads after a days sightseeing so it was perfect in that respect. The breakfast was basic but perfect to get you going in the morning. If you are looking for a romantic Paris hotel stay then don't stay here. You will need to spend a bit more. I would recommend staying at the Hotel Britanique which is a place I have stayed lots of times pre small child!! It's fantastic. In a nutshell Hotel Bordeaux - great location, clean and tidy, very basic but a decent price.

Room Tip: Request a room at the back of the hotel or higher up as there is a bit of street noise until midnigh...

The room itself is basic and dated. Stains on the carpet and a bathroom that needs alot of work. Each morning the bathroom drains gave off a disgusting smell! The street noise was so loud. We noticed that there are alot of people who stand around on the street day and night. Felt very uneasy walking to and from the train station and would definitely not venture out after dark. One thin blanket and a useless heating system made for a cold night sleep. The shower was broken so we had to use the hand held shower head each time. Even with such a dated room it wouldn't hurt to get these small things fixed and even wash the shower curtains? We picked it for the location... It's really not worth it!

My family stayed at this hotel for one night and that was enough. There was black mold in the bathroom shower that had paper taped over the tiles. The ceiling was falling apart and they gave us three tiny beds for four people. Not only that but the window would not close fully so the sounds of pigeons echoed in the room. There are much better choices for the same price in the same area. Not many positives if any.

We were staying in this hotel july 2006 for 5 nights with 5 people and we booked 3 rooms and i dont think that there is any hotel in Paris worse then this one...I booked this hotel after i had seen one good review but i am so sorry because my experience is the complete opp..

The rooms were very dirty and there were roaches walking all over the place. Two of our minibars had the electric cables cut off..

The staff of the hotel didnt wanne lissen to our complains because i am sure they got very tired of quest complaining..They were very unfriendly and most of the questions were answered in french and we didnt need a translator to understand what they were trying to stay!!!!!

Plus - cheap rooms, good continental breakfast (for me and my wife it was enough to stand till 6 or 7 pm), friendly stuff on reception (no problem to change the room, leave the baggage after chekout etc.), 5 minutes walk to two metro stations, 15-20 minutes walk to the very center (Opera, Louvre, Rivoli, Notre-Dame etc.). In two days we feeled we lived there as in our own house.
Minus - if the room is facing the street and windows are open, it is rather noisy, but Paris itself is very noisy and fussy town, so we think even in 5-star hotels there is the same problem.
The solution is to ask for room facing to the yard, so did we and slept well.
Any questions to my E-mail. Sorry for my poor English.
