We just stayed at Hotel Marignan from 26-29 October. The last time we stayed there was during our honeymoon in 2000. We really like this hotel!

This very afffordable hotel is located in a quiet street, right in the middle of the 5th, Quartier Latin. It is close to the Notre Dame, but also to the Pantheon and the wonderful streets behind it (such as Rue Mouffetard).

The owner of the hotel is really nice, and speaks English and German. He will help you with anything. We booked by calling, which was very easy.

The rooms are very Parisian - small and there is no elevator. But clean and comfortable. Showers are located in the hallway on each floor, but are modern and have always hot water.

Breakfast is included and again very french - lots of great coffee, french bread with jam or cheese, and some fruit.

me and my boyfriend stayed for four nights, 2 in one room (6th floor) then one on 4th floor then our last night we were booted out to another hotel!!
we were given only a 10 euro discount and that was only after asking the younger lady the previous night for a reduction!
the hotel they sent us to was nicer, more modern and had a lift - phew!
the staff were ok apart from the young woman serving breakfast - we gave her the nickname 'ice queen' - she didnt acknowledcge us once even though we did our best in french :(
the rooms are ok, a lot of the lights dont work and sheets aren't changed but its clean enough. alot of people on this forum have complained of noise however i wasn't bothered once, apart from the school across the road LOL! the location is good - very close to the pantheon and a metro stop.
the best western next door however looked much nicer - wish we had stayed there!!
but paris was fantastic so i'm sure i'll be back some day!!
