“Perfect Parisian hotel”
Reviewed December 2, 2012

San Regis is perfectly located in a quiet neighborhood, but a few steps from Avenue Montaigne and of course Champs Elysées. Our room was small but cozy and very charming. Everything is up to the level you may expect from a SLH and a boutique hotel in Paris. The hotel is having major renovation now and I cannot wait to see how such a hotel can be upgraded given that everything was already perfect (even the shower!). I absolutely recommend San Regis if you are looking for a quiet, classy home in the heart of Paris.

The location is awesome. Close to Champs-Élysées. Nice to walk around in the neighbourhood with good shops and restaurants. No need to waste time on the public transport.
Got a roof top suite with view to Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Grand Palais, ... Sitting on the balcony and enjoying this view is the best vacation time.
There are a few paint scratches here and there, etc. ... but that is typical French.

Room Tip: Get a roof top suite with view to Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Grand Palais, ...

We arrived in the afternoon. We're taken straight to our room (1) almost felt like I was in reception it overlooked the street and was next door to a service area
The door was so narrow you knocked yourself everytime u went thru it !!
On the Saturday evening they informed up the hotel was closing on Sunday for refurb !! Would have been nice to be told before we arrived.
The noise from guests waiting by reception was unbearable at times especially in the morning the staff using the service area were noisy too,
The last straw I think was them actually moving furniture out of the hotel whilst we were still there beds mattresses dressers and as we were street side the removal vans were noisy too !!!
The location is great it probably is a lovely hotel but it wasn't at it's best for our anniversary stay !!

We have just returned from three nights in Paris, staying at the San Regis Hotel. The rooms were magnificent, and comfrotable. A traditional French hotel in the very best sense of the word! Being to the back of the hotel, it was really very quiet. The service throughout the hotel was superb. The location was ideal, being just a few minutes walk to the Champs Elesee. We will return, and I recommend this hotel to any visitor to Paris

A very charming hotel. Located near Champs Elisee, Avenue Montaigne an at walkin distance to Place de la Concorde and Rue Royale. From XIX's has the atmosphere of Paris, magnificent decoration, very well located and superb service. Don't miss the restaurant!! Includes free breakfast or petit dejeuner.

Room Tip: We stayed at room # 4 and it was very good.

Well as so often happens the hotel exterior is no measure of its quality.
Our room 15 was small, in need of refurbishment and as the weather was changing they switched the hotel from air conditioning to heating. Unfortunately it got hot again, but no air-conditioning could be restored. The hotel is a 19th century building, yet to be modernised.
BUT the most disappointing element was the dis-interested and lack luster staff.
For a SLH hotel rated five stars, this was well below expectation and definitely not worth the asking price.
Go elsewhere.

Room Tip: Don't choose room 15.

We stayed here for my wife's birthday, no other options in Paris open (all 5 star hotels full).

The whole place is in desperate need of an overhaul. Our room was smelly, the staff acknowledged this(!) and all they could do was to 'deodorize' it (no alternatives available). It it were not for the children, we would have moved out and gone to any motel.

Staff were friendly, in a funny way. Breakfast was OK.

Prices were way too high for a 3-star experience - at best!

Room Tip: Go somewhere else
