“A nice small lhotel”
Reviewed October 2, 2011

This is a nice, quiet small hotel on a side street in Paris. The rooms are average in size and the bathrooms are also average. They do offered to polish your shoes for an extra 10 euros!

they did have bathrobes , shoe bags and nice soap.

The two ladies at the front desk are very nice and very helpful obtaining taxis.

the hotel had a nice breakfast in a charming room.

there are English and French papers in the lobby.

the hotel is expenisve but everything in paris is!

We stayed at this hotel because it was across the street from Chez Andre and we had come to Paris to eat at Chez Andre. See my review.

Just returned from a long weekend in Paris at the lovely Franklin D Roosevelt Hotel. Lovely smart building and very professional staff. Our room was lovely and clean and beatifully decorated. The location is good just a short walk to the Champs Elyees. We would certainly stay here again, the breakfast was really good, plenty of choice and good quality food with friendly staff. The only problem we had was finding suitable restaurants in walking distance that weren't fully booked. Chez Andre across the road was very busy and when we managed to get a table we were pinned up against a wall with people on the next table virtually touching us! The starter was OK but the main course was very poor just a peice of lamb with mashed potatoes and with two drinks it cost 86.00 euros! OK we expected to pay big money in Paris but also expected good food we would have happily paid more if it had been excellent. I thought the French could cook! We wanted a nice relaxing meal but the service was so quick almost thrown at us and we were out within 25 minutes! Stay away! Walk a bit further or get a taxi and go to the Champs Elyees.

My husband and I just returned from a very pleasant stay at this hotel. We have been to Paris numerous times and try to stay in a different area each time we visit. We were there in August which is an interesting time to be in Paris: few Parisians, many tourists, many restaurant closings but easier to get in to those places that are open, a lot calmer than other times of the year. The hotel location was wonderful, away from the major tourist areas like Marais. Latin Quarter and St. Germain but still in walking distance to Eiffel Tower, Les Invalides, Musee Branly, Champs Elysees, Avenue Montaigne, the Seine. Also near Metro and Batobus stops. Very much a neighborhood rather than a tourist hub. Nice to return to at the end of a busy touring day. Our room was pretty large by Parisian standards, with a comfortable sleeping area and a separate dressing area. The bath was smallish but very adequate. Very clean, nicely decorated, comfortable beds, and very quiet even though the hotel was full and we had babies next door. Staff was friendly, spoke English, and most pleasant. Only complaint was that the lobby bar was not open which may have been due to the time of year. Not a problem since there were cafes and restaurants within walking distance. Would definitely consider returning here upon our next trip. Great value for the money.

We got the Groupon deal for Two Night Paris Break For Two Including Bottle Of Chablis and River Cruise Tickets for £339 - which was very good value. I believe that the normal value of this would have been £733.
We had a slight hiccup on arrival as the receptionist informed us that we had booked incorrectly. I had booked through the website, as advised when I called the hotel. She did acknowledge that this was their fault rather than ours, but made us feel a little sheepish nonetheless. She eventually found us an available room and said that it wasn't ready but they would call us when it was - which she never did.
Apart from this, our stay was very pleasant and I have no further complaints other than the poor hairdryer and slightly small double bed.
The location is fantastic, the rest of the staff were very friendly and helpful, and our room had lovely Juliette balcony windows opening over a pretty street. The area it is in is also really smart, and there are some good local restaurants and bars.
I would go back here and would also recommend it to others.

The hotel is overpriced for what it is, but the location is excellent. It is off the Champs-Elysee in a quite and safe side-road, making walking easy. The hotel is elaborately decorated and clean with good service. Politeness of the front-desk is so-so, not rude but not very friendly either. Breakfast was excellent though (food in Paris is generally excellent).

Yes, stay here if you can afford it, as overall it is a good experience.

I stayed in this Hotel from 7/23-7/26 2011 with my wife and two teen-aged sons. We booked 1-double room and 1-twin room. The rooms were very large by european/Parisian standards. Our double room faced the street and had a small balcony that was large enough to sit and enjoy a glass of wine after a great day of sightseeing. The room had a the equivalent of a queen sized bed, and a large bathroom with a full tub/shower enclosure. The room was very nicely appointed, the furnishings were in excellent condition.

Satellite TV was provided and many english speaking sports and news channels were offered. Free WiFi is also provided. The Hotel offers a hot "American" breakfast, and a very nice variety of pastries, fruit, cereals and cheeses. The breakfast can be booked in conjunction with your room for a modest charge (recommended), or you can add it on daily at the cost of 25Euro (a bit $$$ by US standards). There are several nice Cafes and Pastry shoppes within 1 block of the Hotel.

This was GREAT way to end a two week vacation to France for our family. I was able to book online directly through the Hotels website and with advance planning we were able to secure an excellent discounted rate.

Finally, the staff was very courteous and professional, always offering a warm welcome, and very thoughtful with their suggestions for dinner and tour itineraries for our family.

We will definitely be back, Thanks.
