I had a lovely morning in the Marais district with Catherine and 4 other tourists. Catherine is very knowledgeable, did her Masters in something to do with food and has been working with PBM for over 3 years. We started off at Poilane bakery, had the most delicious apple pastry I have ever eaten as well as croissants and the world famous Poilane bread for our picnic later. We moved on to a Fromagerie where we could tell her what kind of cheese we prefer, then walked through a market which would be worthwhile to revisit as we were there rather early for market standards and many of the stall holders were setting up. Onwards to buy charcuterie, again she was open to our suggestions of what we would like to taste, but we were all happy for her to do the choosing. We walked to a nearby park and enjoyed our lovely goodies. The last stop was at Jacques Genin where we tasted a very delicious mango caramel, mint chocolate and honey and chestnut chocolate as well as delicious fruit squares. There is plenty to taste and Catherine and the other guests were very generous to offer all the left over goodies to my husband who did not make the tour as he was working. I can highly recommend Paris by Mouth and their website is full of very useful information like restaurants, pastry shops, ice cream shops and etc recommended by them.
