This hotel is within a block of the metro, has been completely renovated: New windows, window and wall treatments, etc. We stayed in room 19 ("Superior" @ E118), on the corner of the 4th floor, beds (3 singles) were small, but comfortable (firm). Room was small by american standards, as was the shower (but there was BEAUCOUP hot water). The room had a small TV (mostly french), hair drier and electronic safe. The other couple with whom we were travelling stayed in room 25 above us, which was comparable.
The staff was most attentive, and all the desk people spoke english. Housekeeping was very good. We ate breakfast in the new breakfast room twice (E8), and everything was fine - My wife loved the coffee, and I enjoyed the chocolat chaud.
The cafe across the street (Peregoid???) served me the best potatoes I've ever eaten, mashed with cheese and who knows what else, with a good steak au poivre. We all enjoyed our meals there, and the service was quite good.
There was street noise to contend with (we slept with the bathroom window open), and we occasionally heard the people next door and our friends above.
All in all though, we'd go return in a New York minute.
