“Amazing location but not sure on facilities?”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 3, 2013

Stayed here in '08 (just started tripadvisor thingy) This hotel is in an amazing location, so close to everything! and right across the road from a main train station. So easy to walk from this location to most things within the central Paris (sure it is a pretty big walk but thats the best way to see things). Downsides to this place: the rooms are really really small. Great sound protection though. My room had a single bed with about 80cm of room at the end for the window. The door to the room opened about a 80*angle, as it hit the single bed within the room. So it was really really small. Also the showers are an additional charge, on top of what you pay for the room. That was a bit over the top, so I only showered each 2nd day. The breakfast was really good (at an extra charge) and the little older french lady serving it was a dear! She did such a good job & made my days begin in a great mind frame. Not sure if I would stay here again, due to having to pay extra to use the showers, otherwise it was a great location.

This hotel is amazingly cheap and is in one of my favourite areas of Paris. It would be highly unusual to hear anything other than french being spoken here - hardly a tourist to be seen! Fab restaurants, bars and cafes all around - check out Au Bon Coin, it's lovely. Round the corner is Les Negociants which is also great for food, but better for a cold glass of Sancerre and people watching! As a lone female I felt really comfortable here and the staff at the hotel were really helpful - despite my terrible attempts at speaking French. Stay here, you couldn't regret it!

english speaking staff. nice staff. with elevator. huge and clean rooms. shared toilet but no dificulty in using it.

what i dont like is the location and limited bathing time. it is not near the center. as for the shower time, you need to buy €2.50 per token for a 5min bath. water stops automatically. there are only 2 shared shower rooms located at the 2nd and 5th floors. no free breakfast also.

I stayed here for six nights. The hotel is spotlessly clean, comfortable and conveniently located. The rooms are acceptable sized though the smaller rooms (therefore, less expensive) have no showers and the shared bathrooms cost an extra 2-50 euros for a five minute shower. the beds are very comfortable and the staff are friendly and helpful. Nearby there are a multitude of restaurants: cheap, expensive and everything in between and a range of places for breakfast. Which brings me to the only negative - the breakfast in the hotel is not good value at 6 euros. Better to eat out. There are plenty of places to go that are close like the Gobelin tapestry factory and the Luxembourg Gardens but going further afield is easy because the Les Gobelins Metro station is very close (2 minutes) and buses are even closer.

I would with out a doubt recommend this hotel, located in the Port Royal/Gobelins area of Paris. I traveled by myself, and the room was very affordable. The room was on the small side, with a shared bath, but everything was very clean and the bed was quite comfortable. Getting around the city was no problem, as the hotel is located near the metro and several buses. The staff is very helpful and speak English, just ask for directions or recommendations of where to eat and they will be happy to help. Added bonus: you are very close to a open air market with great shops, a small supermarket, and an amazing bakery (Maison Morange Patisserie) which you should definitely check out.

If you're on a budget, this place is a gem! We stayed in room 19 (twin room with ensuite) and were extremely happy with the location, service and cleanliness of the room.
We didn't have breakfast at the hotel and opted to go up the road to the local markets every morning. The fresh produce is top quality and the patisserie's are to die for.
The hotel is within a 1 minute walk to the train station and buses are just across the road, so very easy to get around from, there's also no lock out time which was great.
The rooms were very clean and candy was left on the bed everyday.
The staff are extremely friendly and I would definitely stay here again.

The only downfall was if you stay in summer, there's no aircon or fan in the rooms. But you get a great breeze if you leave the window open at night.

Normally we wouldn't stay one star, however, this hotel is clean, comfortable & well situated. A couple of hundred metres to the Metro.& plenty of beaut little restaurants nearby..We paid 89 Euros for our own bathroom which was perfectly fine & cleaned each day (although a shower screen would have been nice).. In the room, there is no TV,no radio,no tea/coffee & the bedroom is quite small......Breakfast (6Euro) wasn't really worth it..The hotel accepts cash only (NO CARDS !) & to book, you must pay a night's cost (fair enough) Our minor irritant was that it cost $30 AUD to send the 89E...then the French govt knocked off 20E to get it into the country ! That said, the hotel folks were very good & held our 89 E room...
