“Central location....but small rooms!”
Reviewed March 22, 2013

This hotel is very central and is currently being removated. We were in a small room on the 6th floor, and works to this floor had been completed, so all fixtures and fitting in the room were new. Breakfast was not available beause of the refurb works, and coffee and milk supplies for the room were in short supply. It is in a busy area and there were a lot of "strange/dodgy" characters hanging about on the streets outside.

Polite and Friendly staff, English spoken, Flexible with late arrival and departure...
Room Cleanliness could have been better...NO AC was very disappointing as it was not being informed beforehand...

TV viewing lacks lot of channels..

Nevertheless, I would certainly recommend for a budget stay

The only good thing about this property was the front desk manager. He was very helpful, pleasant, and understanding, but unfortunately it was not enough to keep us at this hotel. The same goes for the maid we dealt with; she tried to help as much as she could and even upgraded us to a bigger room.

Both of the rooms we saw were extremely small (even for Europe!), and the rooms did not look clean, even after we watched them clean them. We stayed in the room to nap for a couple hours and heard people trying to come into our room numerous times without knocking, so we did not feel comfortable leaving our belongings there, especially since there was no safe in the room.

We called our travel agent and switched to a different hotel, and as we were leaving we noticed the environment outside of the hotel - it did not look like a good section of Paris. We wouldn't have felt safe walking those streets, which weren't even that close to the sites anyway.

We hope we helped some travelers! :-)

Room Tip: Spend a few Euros more per night, and try to get something close to a landmark and/or Metro for easy...

The property in itself is nice...quite, secure and rooms are surprisingly spacious for Paris. The woman at the front desk during the day was knowledgeable and cordial. The night/early morning attendant, however, was just plain pathetic. He asked me upon checkout if I were alone (not sure what that means?). When I asked if my Choice Privilege number was in the reservation, he told me "I don't know what that is", although the plaque is right on the front desk.

The hotel is in a sketchy neighborhood. Only go there if you are a savvy traveler and do not get upset in raw urban environments.

Room Tip: Get a room that faces inwards. I think most do.

There's not much in the means of bragging for this hotel. It was dirty, the rooms were tiny, the staff was only moderately friendly or approachable. Our window overlooked an alley; we had to keep the window open because there was no AC, so the street noise made it hard to sleep. One of the staff members actually got onto me for talking on my phone outside the room at night (I was not being loud). The surrounding area is not the best, especially for as a woman after dark. I have traveled throughout Europe and this was one of the only areas where I would not feel entirely comfortable going out by myself at night. Avoid it if you can.

Room Tip: Don't stay here

Expensive, dirty and poorly located! If you want to save money at least choose a hotel that is in a good location, I recommend Saint German and Quartier Latin.

We needed to find a hotel in Paris for one night before flying back home. Since we arrived at Gare L'Est and needed to go to the airport via Gare Nord, we thought this would be a good choice. The budget category hotels we had stayed at in Germany were luxurious compared to this one. Our hotel room was small, the floor dirty and the bathroom iffy. The breakfast was not included in the price of the room as it was in every hotel we'd stayed in in Germany. For one night before flying home, it served its purpose, but if we'd been planning to spend more time in Paris, this would not be the place to stay.
