“Loved Hotel de la Place du Louvre!”
Reviewed January 13, 2007

We had 2 rooms in this hotel between Christmas and New Years. The staff was very pleasant, polite and helpful. The rooms were large by European standards, and the beds were quite comfortable. The location is fantastic. A quick walk to the Louvre, D'Orsay, and Notre Dame and a wonderful neighborhood with many dining choices. If I am ever in Paris again, I would be delighted to stay in this hotel.

When we arrived at the hotel they didn't have our reservation but luckly they had a room available, it was actually a bigger room on the top floor with a lovely view and they gave it to us at the same price. The room was good size and very clean but they don't have satellite or cable tv so all you can watch are french channels.

Breakfast was super, we had fresh fruit every morning and excellent hot choccolate. I do recommend this hotel especially for its perfect location, you can walk to the main attractions and the metro is just few metres away.

We booked this hotel after seeing it recommended in the AA Spiralguide to Paris. We were not disappointed! The hotel is on a quiet side street right by the Louvre & close to Pont Neuf on the Seine, meaning all the main sights were in walking distance.

We paid £268 Stirling for 2 nights in a triple room - this turned out to be a duplex room with a double bed, wardrobe, desk, TV etc on one floor, with a small staircase up to a mezzanine which had a single bed & the bathroom. We were on the top floor which meant the bathroom was in the eaves & as such there was only a hand held shower over the bath, not a seperate "stand-up" shower cubicle. This is only a minor quibble however - everything else about the room was excellent.

Breakfast was served in the "Muskateers Cellar" & comprised of fresh croissants & baguettes, delicious coffee & a large variety of fresh fruit, preserves, cereals & cheeses. For those too lazy to get up in time for breakfast, however, there's a fantastic patisserie/ salon du the next door!

Service was impeccable & the staff friendly. A great place to stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this quaint & lovely hotel. The staff was very friendly, helpful and attentive. The suite was clean and comfortable. The service was above average. It is centrally located -- very convenient to everything. We would highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely stay there the next time we visit Paris.

My family and I, totalling 6 people, stayed in three rooms with the most wonderful views for three days at the end of June 2005. I chose the hotel for the central location and affordability and we were not disappointed. We walked to most of the sights we wanted to see, but the two metros nearby, were perfect for excursions further afield. The rooms were small but adequate, bathrooms were fine, staff friendly and helpful. It is quiet but not secluded. Lots of restaurants and coffee shops in the area. For my daughters the best part was the close proximity to endless perfect shopping. We will all definately be staying there again and I have recommended the Hotel to my friends, who want central location, not expensive. (I booked long in advance to secure the rooms with views.)

The hotel does have a great location but the tiny "superior" room was not big enough for my daughter and myself. We left after one night and found a better deal at an equivalent hotel just a few minutes away. The staff was efficient but not partcularly friendly. The internet connection in the lobby was broken as well. Our other hotel sold advance tickets to the Louvre and the d'Orsay museums. Would book this hotel only for couples who like to snuggle in small spaces or if the price was dramatically reduced. More like a two-star hotel at 3-4 star prices.

Having read great reviews on this place, we booked a family holiday here, however were greatly disapppointed. The reception staff were unbelievably unfriendly - we didn't even get a hello! The lift was broken, so we had to lug (unassisted) our luggage up to the top floor. Then 2 days into our holiday the door handle fell off the stairwell door (the only escape route out of the bedrooms) and remained unfixed for the rest of the holiday. Our twin room, turned out to be a double room. Our air conditioning, didn't work. We had a whole day without water or electricity. We bought an internet card for the hotel lap-top, which didn't work. The breakfast was extremely poor compared to my previous expereinces of French hotels. The only saving grace was the location. Perfect for getting to almost every part of Paris, with restaurants only minutes' walk away.
I wouldn't stay here again, and certainly would not recommend it to anyone with mobility problems.
