“Truly the Flavors of Paris”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 25, 2013

Our food tour with Lisa was like spending a few hours with an old friend as she showed us her favorite places in Saint Germain des Pres. We tasted a wide variety of the various foods the area has to offer. We learned how to recognize a good baguette, the varying degrees of olive oil, and why one very tasty cheese was orange. We learned about the history, the architecture and the people of Paris from a very charming guide. Thanks Lisa!

“Sweet Food Tour”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 2, 2013

My husband and I were able to enjoy the Sweet Food Tour with Fabien by ourselves as no one else signed up for it. It started off a little slow and we quickly found out why, it was Fabien's first Sweet tour by himself. After about ten minutes he started to relax and the tour went very well. We enjoyed a few pastries at the first stop, hot chocolate at the second stop, Chou pastries at the third stop and Salted caramel Crepes at the final stop. Along the way he filled us in with the history of the Saint Germain abbey and shops we visited. All of the shop keepers were very friendly.

Dear Client:

Thanks so much for reviewing your tour. We're happy to hear that you enjoyed yourselves and that you liked having Fabien as your guide. Guiding the tours is very much like being on stage so sometimes it can be a little intimidating at the very beginning. We're sure Fabien will be delighted to hear that you had a good time.

All the best,
Lisa

“A great way to taste Paris!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 20, 2013 via mobile

I did a tour with Lisa and was incredibly happy! I got to taste a wide variety of products, from macaroons and croissant to cheese and oils and was told about the history of the area we explored. Lisa was a great guide and I would recommend this tour to anyone heading to Paris who likes their food!

“A Great Morning”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 17, 2013

My wife and I had a wonderful time with Lisa, exploring the local neighborhoods of Paris. All of her great little tidbits on the history of the neighborhood sites and restaurants added so much to the rest of our stay in the city. She was warm, friendly and personable. The choice of "tastes" was perfect. I plan on taking her other tour next time we return. I can absolutely recommend this without reservation!

“Something was missing”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 3, 2013

We picked this tour because we were hoping to visit smaller, lesser-known shops off the beaten path and get a true taste of the rich, Parisian food culture. The Saint-Germain Church was hosting a Christmas festival, so Lisa incorporated a few of the booths into our tasting. Honestly, I was a little put off by that because we could've very easily perused those stands on our own since that was the meeting point for our tour.

Lisa was super friendly but seemed a little harried during our tour. Due to a miscommunication, our group ended up being larger than normal, which I think threw her off a little bit. However, she was very knowledgeable about the area and shared some interesting tidbits about the places we visited.

But we left feeling like we didn't exactly get what we came for. We didn't feel like we saw enough stores or had enough tastings for the price we paid. Maybe others had a different experience because they went at a different time of year, but our experience wasn't what we had hoped.

Dear Guest,

We appreciate your taking the time to share your concerns about your tour.

We decided to incorporate 2 of the stands from the Christmas Market in Saint Germain as we felt they carried high quality, artisanal French food products. The honey-maker in particular did not speak any English. One of the bonuses, we hoped, with the tour, was that we were able to offer translation of his explanations of the different types of honeys and the processes involved in creating it, which would have been lost on anyone not fluent in French.

Your concern about visiting the shops is very legitimate. The group was larger than normal due to a miscommunication with a client, which did mean that things moved a little slower en route and we weren’t able to visit every shop scheduled. We like to keep our groups small and intimate for this very reason. This circumstance was an exception and this is something we will certainly do our utmost to avoid in the future.

We are sorry to hear that your experience did not measure up to your hopes, but we always want to hear from our customers, no matter what their experience, to give us the opportunity to provide tours that everyone will enjoy.
