Although Le Toucan isn't really fancy, the service and value is excellent. It's a nice place to rub elbows with French people who enjoy its casualness.

First night in Paris we wandered into this casual restaurant/bar- it was quite crowded at 8/9 pm due to a football (soccer) game being shown on a large screen in the back- the sidewalk tables outside were filled as well- we settled in and a young high school aged boy took our order- menu is in French but we managed to communicate- I had the French “Croque Monsieur” which is basically grilled ham and cheese- it came with a side salad- and I had a glass of house wine- it was fun to see the locals cheer on their team- for a few euros you can eat typical bar food- its not gourmet but it was good- I also had some good French onion soup- the Father of the waiter ran the small bar and cash register- all in all made for a good first night in Paris for jet lagged travelers-

We just happened upon this cafe and it looked lively and popular, so we tried it. This is a little gem! Looks like a family-owned place. There was great excitement the night we were there due to the World Cup, but we were still able to get right in and sit outside like we wanted. My husband had the duck and I had the salmon. Both delicious. The prices were very reasonable. Our bill came to about 34 Euros with drinks. As we were waiting for our food I saw another table being served cheeseburgers. They looked great! Thick and gooey with cheese. We usually hesitate to eat at the same place twice in one vacation, but the food was so good that we did eat here again and had the cheeseburgers. They were as good as they looked. Definitely recommend.

Popped in for an excellent breakfast Anglais - an omelette with coffee, juice and a croissant. Great value for money with great service.

Stumbled across this place looking for somewhere to eat for dinner. It was brilliant, the service was excellent and the food was fabulous. It was much better than the overpriced food we'd tried in central Paris. I'd definitely recommend the onion soup. Give it a try if you're in the area!
