This hotel has quite optimal location if you're going to stay near Notre Dame and Saint Michel Boulevard. It's about 100m away from the main street which makes it a bit quieter than hotels which are right on it, but you can still have an evening drink and morning croissant at pubs and cafes on the St. Michel Place or Boulevard. Rooms were very clean, although don't expect any special views from the window - our was to inner ward. Bonus points for good customer service in clean English.

We stayed three nights at this centrally located hotel, 1/2 block from the Seine and a block from the St Michel metro. Notre Dame and Saint Chapelle are less than a 10 min. walk away. Our room opened up to a central open air area and was so quiet! Hard to believe we were in the middle of the city. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The en suite bathroom was very small but I've had much worse in old building in the city. The only complaint was that the lighting was just awful for the bathroom mirror. Towels were so soft and they provide terry robes and slippers as well. There is a tiny elevator, but you have to jam two people and luggage or go up one at a time.

We really enjoyed our stay in this small hotel ideally situated near NotreDame. Quiet, cosy, with this french touch which makes you feel comfortable immediately. Service is excellent and smiley, rooms small and cosy.We shall come back!

We were horribly disappointed with our stay here! Our travel agent booked it, the reviews were great! The agent had phoned the week before to remind them that one of us has asthma and required a feather free smoke free room. The staff neglected to mention that the hotel was undergoing complete renovation! There was plaster dust everywhere! Men working everywhere! They turned the water off and told us to go find some green space for awhile! Unbelievable!
The location is superb but there are many other hotels in the area. Give this one a miss!

Let's start with the positive. The room was nice, clean and charming. The location is great; near the St.Michel metro.(although the RER B is closed till the third week in August). The night guy was a pleasure to deal with. The girl working during the day made a couple of restaurant reservations for us with no fuss.

But, when I spend over $250 a night, I expect to have a good nights sleep; at least related to the things under the hotel's control. The first night I was rudely awakened at 5am by an alarm in the room phone. Yes the room phone handset is used as an alarm also... Screwed badly with my sleep since I had to figure out how to stop it. When I mentioned it in the morning, the girl apologized... but still charged me 5 euro for a coffee.

The last night, believe it or not, at 5:30 we were awakened by loud banging noises. Turned out someone on the street was banging on the hotel door; shortly followed by screams of HELLO and OUVRER LA PORTE. The guy was yelling at the top of his lungs. This went on for a solid 15 minutes. At home I would have called the police and was at the point of doing so anyways when it stopped; when I guess he was let in.

Breakast is not included and is an expensive 13 euros for coffee, juice, and croissants.

Just back from a Paris trip and stayed at the Hotel du Vieux Paris for 4 nights. The hotel is charming if a bit small - the small factor is notable by the lift (room for 1 person plus suitcase).
The rooms are really pretty and the staff very friendly and keen to help. We were there in August so the inevitable mainteneance was going on though I was a bit put out that we were placed in a room right next to one that was been worked on (8am till 7pm inc Saturday) even though the hotel was not full.
The position of the hotel is very good for the main tourist spots and a metro station as well as some very nice breakfast cafes if you walk away from the river and back into the Latin Quarter. The hotel breakfast is pricey so a well chosen cafe is better value and you get to look at Paris!
Overall this hotel is pricey for the facilities but excellent for position in Paris.

Room Tip: The street outside can be a bit noisy at night so asking for a room on an upper floor and preferably...
