The four of us had dinner outside, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves ...
We shared the mixed tapas first, and it was quite tasty and varied. We had four different main courses ( veal, swordfish, salmon, and sea scallops) and all were prepared very well, and tasted wonderful. The portions are just right and the food is creative. Service was very friendly. Quite a few foreigners having dinner in this small, clean cut bistro, must be the great location! The Invalides is right at the end of the street, the Alexandre III bridge is around the corner, and it is a stone throw away from theEiffel Tower...we are going again next week, they have gained new customers!

My wife and I, and a couple of friends, stayed at an apartment right next door to this café when we visited Paris recently. Right after we checked into this apartment, we decided to head out and get a drink and something to eat. It was middle of the afternoon, about quarter to three, and we were fearful that we might not get lunch if we spent too much time looking for a café, so we walked into this one, which looked like a decent café anyway. As we were walking to the café, my friend (who had flown in from the US) commented that the feeling that she was in Paris had not sunk in yet.

Turns out her wish was about to come true very soon. The waitress who served us was rude, unfriendly, and sarcastic. With us, she pretended to speak little English, but her fluency in English seemed to improve dramatically when interacting with the customers on the next table. When my friend accidently dropped her fork, and when we requested for another one, we were told that "we give only one set of cutlery with a dish". We requested a basket of bread, and she put down on our table a basket of bread which she had in her hand, which she had picked up from another table AFTER the customer on that table had finished eating from it. In other words, leftovers. To which she added a very sarcastic "thank you". And returned to put a fresh basket of bread on our table, followed by another sarcastic "thank you".

I am not quite sure what impelled her to behave in the outrageous manner that she did. Was it the fact that we were foreigners (but there were other tourists too, can't say if she behaved any differently with them) ? Was it the fact that we were of a different racial origin (on that count, we were definitely alone in the café) ? Was it because her shift was ending and she wanted to leave ?

I will never know the answer to this one. But what I do know is that I do intend to visit Paris again, hopefully stay in the same apartment again (comfortable, and very conveniently located) but will never set foot in this café again ever.

We had a great lunch here on the way to the Eiffel Tower. There is outdoor seating on a quiet street, not very touristy, and the inside looks cozy and welcoming. The best part was the food. We have eaten in a lot of bistros over the past three weeks and the quality of the food was outstanding here. I'm not usually a big fan of gaspacho, but it was a warm day and a cold soup seemed appropriate. It was the best I've ever had, delicious and full of flavor, and was served with sliced baguette with black olive tapenade and red pepper tapenade. My husband had the fruit salad, which was also very refreshing, with starfruit, passionfruit, mango, pineapple, and apple. The restaurant was kid friendly, and there were quite a few other families eating here, mostly French it seems. Would recommend!

A nice place to travel back to the Paris of the 50's. This is a casual place (a Bistrot) that is good for a nice lunch or a relaxed dinner. I typically seat near the bar, there is more action there.

Food is tasty, authentic French, and the cook knows what he is doing. Menus are not going to make you bankrupt. Try the Poule au Pot, you will not regret it.

Service is Brasserie style (quick, sometimes on the rough side) but in a nice way.

Overall: a repeat place for me (lunch + Dinner)

This restaurant offers a wonderful taste of France in a homey, relaxed atmosphere. There was a mess up with our reservation, but the staff was helpful and welcoming anyway. The food was consistently great with each course, and served at a relaxed but not too slow pace. Salt and pepper on the tables was needed.
