A great opportunity to see the architecture and structures that are the Notre dame!

Please check the times of your visit. they close at 18h30 according to the brochures, but last entry is at 17h30. if you do miss it, then walk around the corner and check the queue for the cathedral. we were lucky, there were only a few people ahead of us, and the bonus ws that a chruch service was in progress. quite humbling.

We waited over an hour in the queue but it was worth it. The towers provide a great view of the city as well as the gargoyles and the cathedral itself.

It is a long wait in line to make the long climb to the towers, but it was one of the highlights of our trip to Paris. The up close view of the gargoyles, the bells tolling, and the view of the city spread out below made this a not to be missed experience!

The Towers were great after the massive climb of the stairs not recommended if you have trouble walking the stairs are narrow and steep and a lot of them. The view is magnificent but once up there they make you queue to get to the next level and then wait to go back down. The queues to get into the Towers were crazy long.

The wait to get up the towers is at least 1 hr in the summer (you have to get there at least an hour before it opens to be first in line, so that doesn't help), but it's well worth the wait. It's been over 30 years since we were there, and they've added a stop at the mezzanine level that has a little shop. My husband and I had Paris Museum passes but we had to get our two boys tickets at that shop before entering the stairs to the next level of the towers. It was free, but we were caught unawares since that wasn't written anywhere that I've found. There's a nice video on the history of the cathedral while you wait for your turn to go up. It was a bit sad to see the deteriorating state of the stone-- (the gargoyles, chimera and carvings look more melted than 30 years ago) but it's still a breath-taking, must do site.
