Very nice room, nicely decorated and no two rooms the same. Full of character. Very good location, close to Notre-Dame Cathedral, la Seine, between le jardin des Tuileries and the jardin du Luxembourg various restaurants and bars. The staff are very friendly too.

Hotel de Nesle has a great location in a lively area of Paris, Saint Germain. It's location gives you access to numerous cafes, restaurants and that famous Paris night life. it's also close to the Seine, a couple of metro stations and walking distance of many tourist attractions.

This is a no frills, budget friendly mom & pop hotel in the heart of Paris. There's no elevator. If you have issues with stairs, request a lower floor. The rooms felt a little tired and can use some freshening. Some rooms have a toilet, for others it's in the hallway. Mine did. The bed was fine and the WiFi worked well, not requiring constant signing in. The shower was quite small, I was constantly rubbing up against the curtain.

There's no AC, but this wasn't an issue. What was a bit of an issue was the noise. While the hotel sits on a quit street, the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything in the room next to you. You can also hear the footsteps going up and down the stairs, as well as the sound of toilets flushing.

No breakfast is served, but there's plenty of cafes to get a bite.

I didn't have a lot of encounters with the small staff, when I did they were helpful.

If your looking for a budget friendly hotel with a great location, this may be the hotel for you. Just don't expect many perks.

ADDITIONAL: On Rue Dauphine, the street the hotel sits off of is an amazing Indian restaurant called Desi Road. It's not far from the hotel.

If you're buying a travel pass for the public transportation in Paris, be sure to get a photo of yourself for it. The vultures who work for the RATP (they dress in green uniforms and patrol the metro) prey on unsuspecting tourist and those who don't speak French. They'll fine you 35 euros if you don't have the photo.

Location: The hotel is strategically located in the heart of Paris, and only a brief 8 min walk away from the St. Michel-Notre Dame subway station. This means Notre Dame, the Louvre, and the fountain of St. Michael are all within a 15 min walk. All the other major attractions are also in a reasonable walking distance. The best part of this location is its close proximity to the St. Michel subway stop, which has a direct line to both airports (CDG and Orly) and the Gare du Nord train station, and a direct line to Versaille, as well as the Eiffel Tower, etc. So, no train switching necessary (unless certain routes/trains are cancelled that day).

Staff: This hotel seems to be family-run and the people are wonderfully friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Though we arrived early in the morning, they checked us into an upgraded room (so we could freshen up after our long trip), and let us keep it for 2 nights. After that we moved into our reserved room.
As with most of Paris, it helps here to speak at least some French.

Prices: This hotel is super affordable for its location. I found the best rates by booking directly with them on their website, via email.

Rooms: The rooms are beautifully designed, each with a different theme, and full of charm. The mattresses are hard, which I prefer.
There is no A/C in the rooms, but a fan is provided. In Sept. an open window was sufficient for us.
The 3-person room, with ensuite bathroom had a blowdryer and shampoo/body wash provided. The twin room with ensuite shower and with shared toilet in the hall did not have a blowdryer, but shampoo/body wash was provided.
The rooms do not contain a safe, mini fridge, iron, alarm clock, TV, or anything extra. The rooms only contain beds, chair, end tables, and lamps, which is all most of us need on vacation anyway.

WiFi: WiFi was available in the rooms. You will get the password in the lobby.

Shared Toilet in Hall: The shared toilet is one tiny unisex toilet room in the stairwell of each floor. There's nothing creepy about it, nor should it be considered unsafe for women.

Stairs: We had a room on the 5th floor for two nights and a room on the 4th floor for two more nights. The hotel has a treacherous spiral staircase and no elevator, which was no problem for me, as I travelled fairly light, with only a large backpack. (Consider this staircase, subway stairs, and Paris cobblestones before packing a huge suitecase.)

Building: This is an old building. The creaking floors and other imperfections add to the charm of this hotel. It is not dirty or outdated.

Breakfast: There was no breakfast available, but this is Paris; there's a bakery or café on every block. And why eat breakfast tucked away in your hotel, if you can sit outside of a Paris café and watch people as you eat?

Sore Feet: Just wanted to mention that there is a spa and a very affordable massage/nail salon on this street to rub your sore feet/legs after long days of walking.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel, and hope to stay here on future trips to Paris.

Lovely room, friendly helpful staff, reasonably priced, great location. Near d'Orsay, Seine, Norte Dame, nice walk to the Latin Quarter. Lots of places to eat in a street very near by, nWill return next year.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are quieter. No breakfast but lots of cafes nearby.

This hotel is centrally located near numerous sites. It is clean and well maintained. Visitors looking for a local private hotel versus a chain will find this a nice option. Rooms are each unique. Bathrooms are large. We had two rooms at this hotel and both had comfortable beds. A good choice for the price.
