I have been to Paris 9 times. I have stayed in 9 different arrondisements. This was not one of my favorite locations, though, if you are fluent with the metro, who cares....I am always eager to check out the different arrondisements.
I loved the front desk at this hotel. They were very helpful and oversaw everything meticulously.
My first night was so noisy and the front desk looked into it with much concern. The noise was due to a neighbor, nothing to do with this hotel. I was only on the 2nd floor. This was a one time problem.

I felt their integrity was very high for a 2 star hotel.

Room Tip: Go up, though it is not normally a noisy hotel.

What a great location so convenient for the Louvre, Opera and Galleries Lafayette. However if you want airconditioned space with fancy toiletries this hotel is not for you. Our room was compact (small) tidy, clean and a comfortable bed. There is little cupboard space but fine if you travel light. Breakfast No frills accommodation that is clean and tidy. In room coffe/tea not one of the best. All in all a good economical base for a short stay in Melbournewas great and a good start to the day. Our room was on level 6 and the lift is very small but did the job. We would definitely stay again

We enjoyed staying at this hotel. Very well located in a safe, central, up-market area we stayed a couple of nights. We would have stayed another few nights but unfortunately the hotel was fully booked.

Overall, a very good hotel but depends very much on which room you get. We had two quite different experiences - room 41 was a two roomed balcony 'suite' which was excellent. The next night we were moved to room 29 which was less than excellent. Hallways are tight and the quaint lift is very tight.....mainly used for luggage or one person at a time I think.

Staff were very good, generally spoke good English and were very helpful and pleasant. There is a public computer in the lobby but it doesn't allow camera cards or USB drives. Free wifi internet is quite good and consistent. Beds were very comfortable and having a balcony was a delight.

Located in a good, safe, clean area and close to a couple of metro stations - it is worth noting the hotel is much closer to Grans Boulevard Metro than Bourse - important when you're lugging luggage up and down the Metro.

There are many excellent dining options just around the corner or in the arcade next door to the hotel. The Hard Rock Cafe and Virgin Mega Store are also just around the corner. We had breakfast at Le Cafe Zephyr on Boulevard Montmatre nearby which was delightful.

This is a very comfortable, well located hotel in a central, safe and clean part of Paris - highly recommended.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony if you can.

The location of the hotel is quite good, close to the shops and restaurants. There are also metro stations just around the corner. The hotel itself is very small, and the corridors and the elevator are really cramped, as well as our room, which was at the top floor. But actually the cramped conditions didn't bother us, perhaps the tight mansard room was indeed exactly "Parisian", if you know what I mean... It was a positive surprise to us, that there was a balcony with a view to the Eiffel tower in our room (44)!

The room was very clean and on the tv there were also a couple of English speaking channels. The bathtube was missing a shower curtain, so the floor was getting wet during showers... The staff was speaking English more or less. The breakfast was a bit limited and perhaps not worth the money. At least you can get a very similar set in some street cafes with same money.

I could say that without the view to the Eiffel tower and sunset you could say this a bit overpriced experience (but after all, Paris isn't a cheap place...), but we were lucky to get the only(?) room with such a view, so I can't complain. It was a really pleasant stay.

Room Tip: Room 44 has a view to the Eiffel tower.

Good for the price. Great location with easy access to the metro and walking distance to the Louve. Nothing pretty about the room, but clean and new shower and sink. We paid for toilet down the hall which was not awful. Elevator to bring luggage up. Great area to be in at night with lots of restaurantes which was nice. Free Wifi worked well

There is no A/C but even being there in July we did not need it. About a 10 minute cab from the train station.

Definitely would stay here again for sightseeing Paris. (not meant for a honeymoon as it is very basic)

tip:Sunday many shops are closed. Walk around the Latin quarter and Marais on Saturday. take scenic boat tour on Sunday (maybe closer to dusk so Eiffel tower lights up)

Stayed at Hotel Vivienne for two nights, and were very pleased with our stay. The hotel was located within a short walk from two metro stops. The staff was very friendly when we checked in, and our room was a decent size. We loved the balcony that offered a good view of the street and architecture around us. The elevator was extremely small, but added to the experience! Our room was nothing fancy, but it had everything we needed, and we didn't spend much time there anyways! It was in a great location, as we were able to walk to the Louvre, and also catch the metro to any other locations we wanted to visit. The staff spoke English, and were able to direct us to a passageway of restaurants just a few steps away, where we enjoyed a delicious French meal. As two women traveling alone, we felt safe at this hotel, and would definitely stay there again.

Consistent with the reports below, we found this hotel to be amazing value for money! The staff were helpful, friendly and spoke very good English. The location of this Hotel is perfect....it's in a quiet street but walk 100 yards or so and you are surrounding by restaurants, shops and bars. There are even 2 Irish Pubs for those who prefer a pint....AND of course the Metro station and a taxi rank are just around the corner. I stayed with my wife and 3 year old son....the room was more than adequate for our needs, it was clean and the rustique furniture added a nice touch. There was also free wi-fi. We would definately stay here again.
Tip: Don't order a taxi, simply walk around the corner to the taxi rank. If you order a taxi, they begin to charge from the place that they receive the request. We ordered a taxi and found an 8 euro charge upon getting in then they charge you for the journey. For a 10 min taxi ride, the total came to 15 euros! The same taxi ride from the taxi rank was 7 euros....so use the taxi rank, don't order one! Thanks to the Hotel staff for alerting us to the taxi rank!
