We recently participated in the Paris Marathon and chose Hotel Keppler based on convenient location to the Champs Elysees and favorable Trip Advisor reviews. We took a train from Charles De Gaulle airport to the Gare du Nord and taxi from there. The overall trip took about 1 hour plus. For convenience, I would recommend taxi direct from airport. The cost difference is about 20 euro, not worth the hassle. It can be difficult maneuvering through the busy train system with jet lag and luggage in tow. The Hotel is on a non-trafficked side street. Our second floor room was exceptionally quiet. Access to the metro was just a short walk from the hotel. The staff greeted us warmly and spoke English without any hesitation. The hotel is very clean and welcoming. We chose a Standard room which we expected to be on the small side, typical of most Parisian accommodation. The room was indeed small but cozy. Large luggage storage could be a challenge. The armoire doors when open, just cleared the edge of the bed. We quickly learned how to maneuver around the obstacles. The bathroom was also small, but the linens and soaps were first rate. There is no restaurant on site, and we did not opt for the breakfast plan. Restaurants in the immediate area exist but are not plentiful. If one has an expectation of many cafes, boulangeries, brasseries, and patisseries adjacent to the hotel, this area is not the best for that. However if willing to take short walks, you will have no problem finding food in Paris! As for value for the money, of the many hotels we considered for our trip, Hotel Keppler was in the mid-range. Paris is awash with very expensive hotels. All things considered, we would rate the value as average based only upon the size of the room and the lack of an on site restaurant. In the end, the Hotel met our needs and we were pleased with the location, condition of the hotel, and the friendly staff. I would recommend Hotel Keppler for somebody wishing for a central location in a quiet, upscale neighborhood in Paris.
