We loved our Monday evening at Au Passage. It was full and there was a great buzz. Mostly locals. Don't expect large tables and plenty of elbow room! The staff are great, but fully stretched at peak time.
The food is served as small dishes, presented with deceptive simplicity. Ingredients are highest quality. The work which has gone into preparation of many of the dishes is amazing. The butter and ricotta are made in house. Octopus goes through a series of steps which ends up with a beautifully tender and tasty dish. Given all this, prices are modest.
Au Passage is first and foremost about food. Don't go if you want white table cloths, or carnivore's portions, but do go if you want to be intrigued, and can accept that you may miss the point of one of the dishes you have chosen. And go if you want to be part of a fun, gastronomic experience.
