“Great fun, fascinating food and fantastic value.”
Reviewed June 18, 2014

We loved our Monday evening at Au Passage. It was full and there was a great buzz. Mostly locals. Don't expect large tables and plenty of elbow room! The staff are great, but fully stretched at peak time.
The food is served as small dishes, presented with deceptive simplicity. Ingredients are highest quality. The work which has gone into preparation of many of the dishes is amazing. The butter and ricotta are made in house. Octopus goes through a series of steps which ends up with a beautifully tender and tasty dish. Given all this, prices are modest.
Au Passage is first and foremost about food. Don't go if you want white table cloths, or carnivore's portions, but do go if you want to be intrigued, and can accept that you may miss the point of one of the dishes you have chosen. And go if you want to be part of a fun, gastronomic experience.

“Favourite restaurant in Paris for a long-term expat!”
Reviewed June 13, 2014

Having been living in Paris 2.5 years and tried my best to discover as many different restaurants as possible, I can say that Au Passage is the one I return to most willingly time and again. Whenever I have friends visiting and want a great meal in a fun environment, interesting dishes with great fresh ingredients skilfully put together, friendly service and a great wine list - it's Au Passage every time. Not always a fan of the small plates format as it often means not enough food for too much money, I find this place instead great value and always leave having eaten & drunk lots of delicious things for an extremely reasonable price.
My favourite :-)

“Wow! The best place we had in Paris”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

This was the best restaurant we had in Paris! First of all is the atmosphere - so dynamic and sexy! Second thing is the service - they welcome you, take care about you all the time. When you ask for something, you get it within seconds.
And the food, its WOW! not the ordinary good food you normally eat in Paris, but really creative and special. Some of the courses were better than others, but on the overall - fantastic.

“make your reservation and just anticipate,”
Reviewed May 21, 2014 via mobile

Was not sure what to expect. Would go back in a heart beat. Real food, unpretentious and well priced. Something for everyone. lovely mackerel with onions and capers, a celery soup with a morsel of foie gras that just about sent me around the bend. tempera fried asparagus in dipped in velvety smooth Worcester mayo. it was all i could do from ordering a 2nd of the lemon sorbet, strawberries with meringue. Great staff worthy wine list. How lucky we were. Merci

“the best surprise in paris”
Reviewed May 9, 2014

Au Passage is a restaurant that, I assume, often goes unnoticed--located down a random alleyway. However, having friends in Paris, we met up for a dinner here on a Thursday night and I couldn't have been more happy. It was such a surprise! Local, young cooks with a modern edge mixed with fresh ingredients and well preparation made for my best meal in Paris. I went the next day. Still dreaming about the venison steak and grilled foie gras on top, the cheese plate, the homemade chocolate cookies......yummmmm
