Stayed for 4 nights over a weekend with our grandson to visit Paris. Hotel and rooms designed exactly with families with small children in mind and in this it succeeds although the fixtures could be a bit more robust. The aircon not up to much but our rear facing room was quiet even with the windows open. Didn't use the facilities in the hotel as we were able to take breakfast and a light meal on the evening with the facilities in the room and food from the supermarket on the corner and shops on the high street. No restaurant in the hotel but we eat in the IBIS next door on the first evening which was good and there are restaurants on the high street. Close to metro station and easy to get to by car, off the periferique at Porte de Montreuil exit direction Montreuil, immediate left, first right and left into the hotel car park within 10 yards. There is a large car park opposite the hotel, home to a market on Saturday Sunday and Monday and the rest of the time for homeless recent immigrants from west Africa who live as if in west Africa. Not a pretty sight and you may find it unsettling. However the high street is quite a normal.

We booked this hotel as a last minute option. We arrived at Charles de gaulle airport and from there it was about 40 euros in a taxi to the hotel. We were aware that the hotel was near a busy road. However we did not realise how run down the area is and that there are lot's of homeless people sleeping in the car park across the road at night. The main town area itself felt reasonably safe to us and we regularly returned to our hotel from the nearby subway (about 5 min walk away) late at night. The hotel was reasonable for the price, we booked a city break deal, superior family suite which was lovely it was very large had lovely comfortable beds, big bathroom and seperate toilet. The free media centre gives free wifi, internet access (there is also free internet access at reception on the hotels apple mac computer a joy to use), tv and free movies which are current. The room was nice and clean and the only problem we had was that a panel fell from the roof of the toilet when the door was opened luckily it didn't hurt anyone, though we informed reception it was still not put back on throughout our stay??? The hotel itself is reasonably clean but it could be better, also the outside front entrance and back courtyard really could do with a good scrub clean. There is a large shopping centre around the corner from the hotel and it has a good range of shops and a large supermarket upstairs. I wouldn't bother with the hotel breakfast unless you get a good deal it really isn't worth paying for and also the food in the hotel is very expensive too. The bar though was reasonably priced expect to pay about 5 euros for a glass of wine. The hotel staff were helpful and friendly and spoke good english too. We mainly visited Paris and bought day metro passes for just over 10 euros each (there are cheaper rates for kids under 11). You really must make sure you keep your tickets at all times as they are very strict and we saw inspectors fining people without the correct ticket which could be very costly!!! One the day we went to disney it was about 13 euros each return (again there are cheaper rates for kids too). We used our Paris visit metro tickets to save 20% at disney on our entry fee and it was a saving of 6 euros each so well worth it. We visitied the Paris plages by the river very relaxing but watch out for the cafes there thy are very pricey so take a picnic with you. We also visited the eiffel tower at night beautiful when lit up but watch out for street hustlers trying to con you out of your money with gambling games, these games are played with either 3 cups and a ball or 3 discs in anycase even if you think you have it sussed it's a con we saw people loose large amounts of money. The person playing the game is working with another 3 or 4 people around in the crown and the only person that will win is them so beware. The highlights of our stay were a visit to Montparnassee tower this spectacular tower is 56 floors high has a lift which takes you to the top in 48 seconds and has a glass area on the roof with a panoramic view of Paris. Le defense to see the grand arch when you stand on the steps under the arch you can see directly down to the arc de triomphe a really beautiful view (we also walked all the way from the grand arch to the arc de triomphe it took us about an hour but it was a really lovely walk), at le defense there is also one of europes largest shopping centres there well worth a visit for the retail therapy happy shoppers. Two other beautiful places were the Sacre cour a must see place very special and the gardens at Buttes chaumont were amazing climb to the top of the hill then cross the bridge below and descend to the natural waterfall which is stunning. We found Paris very expensive and eating out can be costly if you don't shop around first. However we had a wonderful time here, next time I would stay in the Montmartere area as it was lovely and clean with lots of pretty little streets to explore and more on the arty side of Paris.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room at the back overlooking the court yard.

Our family stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. It was easy to park the car in the safe indoor parking area, and the room was nice and clean. However, we missed the usual great service we always
get when we stay at Novotel. Does the the "suite" brand means less service?! No smile and enthusiasm when I arrive or ask questions at the reception. The breakfast was ok, but not the usual Novotel standard.

The neighborhood was also not the best, but we did not experience any trouble during our walks to the metro station daytime and at night. On Saturday, Sunday and Monday there is a huge marked close to the hotel, where you can buy everything cheap but I question the quality of the goods...

Location is great near Metro line 9 and the périphérique, safe parking in hotel private carpark. Driving by car to Disneyland in 35 minutes (left at 11:00 in the morning arrived at 11:35, no traffic jams). Parking at Disney is € 15, traveling by RER is more expensive.

Nice and big market at Saturday / Sunday in front of the hotel, shopping centre with big supermarket and fast food chains next to the hotel. A 10 minute walk to the metro station Porte de Montreuil. All major sites like Eifel tower, Sacre Coeur and quartier latin within 30 minutes reach. Walking from the Metro to the hotel late in the evening feels a little unsafe.

The room is well equipped but the carpet is a little worn, the mattresses are firm. The room has double window frames each with double glazing, you can see the périphérique but you do not hear it!

The bathroom and shower are clean and convenient but the prefab plastic walls make it feel cheap. The breakfast area is small but the breakfast is (for French standards) surprisingly versatile.

I booked this hotel in June and travelled in late July. Just before I went I thought I'd look at the latest reviews. They scared me! I thought I was going to be booking into a nice hotel once I'd crossed the virtal war zone outside. I even phoned the people I'd booked with in an unsuccessful attempt to change the hotel.

Frankly I don't know what everyone was expecting. The hotel is just off the ring road so wasn't going to look out onto beautiful green fields. There was no one at all in my four days who looked the slightest bit suspicious and even when returning late at night with my wife and boy there was no problem whatsoever. There is nothing wrong with this area.

The hotel was pleasant enough with helpful staff, although I will concede that we didn't suffer any emergency situations where they would have been properly tested. Everything worked in the room and it was a pleasant holiday if you exclude the crooks supposedly from the Transport police at the Eurodisney train station who fleeced us for a 30 euro penalty fare, despite us having bought tickets minutes previously. Don't go to Eurodisney until this scam is dealt with.
