This hotel has a great localization. Near a lot of landmarks and Metro options, it allows you to visit all important things in Paris by feet, bike, metro or bus.
It doesn't have a good price. It is too expensive for what it offers, but has good rooms and quality of rest is great.
The service was always fast and kindly.

Dear Guest,

First of all we thank you for having chosen our hotel for your visit, and for having taken the time to share your comments.

We appreciated that you love the fact that Hotel Mercure Paris La Sorbonne is well located near a lot of landmarks and metro stations. You can easily walk or bike to the main highlights of Paris!

However, as you know, our hotel is right in the center of Paris: More the location in Paris is good, more the price of the hotels will be high. Maybe that is the reason why you find it expensive.

Your review has been relayed to our staff as your happiness is our best satisfaction.

For your next stay in Paris, do not hesitate to contact us directly we will for sure, give you the best offer!

Yours Sincerely,

Maria Pires

My husband I and I just returned from Paris and truly loved our stay at the Mercure Paris La Sorbonne. The location was fantastic, one simple train from CDG airport and a five minute walk and we were in our peaceful room. The front desk staff are very friendly, the rooms are very clean and the location can not be beat. We will definately stay at this hotel on our next visit to Paris.

We stayed in this hotel with my daughter for her 16th, this was the start of our holiday. On arrival we went to our room it was so small ( I am very aware that city hotels especially in Paris can be small). We couldn't see a third bed so I went back down to reception the lady was very curt and explained this was a room for three and she had no other rooms. The hotel states four star but it really is 3 very dated, . Simple things like the towels were something I would have expected in a travel lodge. The room rate was a reduced £250 per night not bad for Paris centre but I don't feel it was worth it. On a positive the location is good 10 minute walk to Norte dame and the St Micheal metro station which gives easy access to RER B line. Also Halles station is only a couple of stops were by you can get the RER A straight to disney. We didn't eat breakfast here as it just seemed dingy. I know the hotel as had a lot of good comments but I suppose it depends on your expectations. We often stay at the 4 star Cumberland in London when we are with my daughter and that is what you would expect of a 4star. If you are staying here with children/ teenager book a separate room . Rooms too small for three

Dear Madam,

We would like to thank you for sharing your review after your recent stay with us at Hotel Mercure Paris La Sorbonne.

All the comments are very precious for us as they allow us to continuously improve our level of service.

However, it seems important for us to remind you that Hotel Mercure Paris La Sorbonne has been totally renovated in 2011 (our rooms, public areas, but also our breakfast room). Following this renovation, we received the new four stars classification which means that our hotel fit with all the specific standards of the French four stars hotels.

Our buffet breakfast is full of choice: many types of bread, bakeries, jams, eggs, delicatessens, cheeses, cereals, juices, yogourts, and also an organic buffet. We only have good reviews about the breakfast on TripAdvisor: we do regret that you did not like it without trying it.

In order to try to understand a bit better why we failed in our commitment, it would be pleasure for me if you could contact directly by email to have more details about your stay.

Thank you again and we do hope to welcome you back soon.

Yours Sincerly,

Maria Pires

On a quiet backstreet, opposite the famous Sorbonne university, yet only ten minutes walk from Notre Dame, this hotel has a very good location. The rooms are small, but newly renovated, with good air conditioning. The staff is friendly and service-minded. The breakfast buffet is good, but the small breakfast room in the basement tends to get crowded. Overall, we were very happy with our stay.

Not knowing what to expect but just relying on tripadvisor reviews which were mainly good but some negative, my husband, myself and my grown up daughter booked ourselves a triple room in this hotel in mid July for 4 nights.
When we first saw the hotel, it appeared quite small and was in a small narrow street right opposite the Sorbonne which is a famous Paris university. I think the street was very quiet because all the students had gone for their summer break, otherwise I imagine it would be a lively place.
But once we entered the hotel, it looked like a very nice cosy hotel. The check in was quick and efficient, service was polite. I had taken the precaution of writing to the hotel a week beforehand requesting for a more spaceous room on a higher floor and I was indeed very pleased with the room that I was given. Room 503 was a family room on the 5th floor built with a duplex, so we the parents had a generous sized double bed below and up a small flight of stairs, the duplex level had 2 single beds , which my daughter was very happy with.
The only complaint I have is that the shower bath had no shower curtain, just had a partial shower screen so it is impossible to shower without flooding the bathroom floor. I think many reviewers here complained about it, so hopefully the management will install shower curtains.

Other than that I found the hotel is lovely and quiet and yet just a short stroll from cafes, restaurants, shops and the metro station. Also a short walk to the Cathedral of Notre Dame and the river. Altogether I was very happy with my choice of hotel

Room Tip: I was on the top floor, I e 5th floor No 503, which is suitable as a family room for a couple with 2...

Dear Madam,

Thank you very much for having taken the time to share your review about Hotel Mercure Paris La Sorbonne.

It was a real pleasure to read that you enjoyed your stay with us! A few steps from the Seine River, in a typical Parisian street, and in the “chic” and quiet area of the Latin Quarter, our location is perfect to discover Paris. We can also inform you that, even if La Sorbonne is full of students the most part of the year, our street is still quiet!

The family room you had is the most spacious we have. We are pleased that you appreciated the duplex level with the two single beds!

We will be pleased to welcoming you again upon your next stay in Paris; do not hesitate to contact us directly!

Yours Sincerely,

The location is very nice, close to metro, RER and heart of the city (St. Michel, Notre Dame, Louvre etc.). The staff was genial and helpful. The rooms were clean and useful but not big. We didnt have meal at the hotel so no comment.
