“As close as you can get to the Sorbonne”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 10, 2013

The hotel is directly opposite the Sorbonne university (from the balcony you can look the secretaries over the shoulder) and a stone-throw’s distance from Boulevard Saint Michel, from the Pantheon and from the jardin du Luxembourg . In other words: It has a very good location.

The rooms are nicely refurbished in modern design and with a nice big bed, but relatively small.

In particular, the bathroom is a wonderful example of optimization of space. When you first enter, you think there is no toilet, but no worries, it is just hidden directly behind the door (Caution if you are two: If you open the bathroom door while your partner sits inside on the toilet, you risk getting troubles with him/her.)

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, in contrast to some other Paris hotels.

Price: 151 euro with breakfast included, booked via travel agency. The official price indicated in the room (260-550 euro) is certainly too much for the comfort offered.

We are a family of five and we went to Europe celebrating our youngest daughter's 15th birthday.
The personnel was very kind and accommodating. One of our rooms had a bad odor since they had cleaned the carpet and was still a little wet. They couldn't change the room but sent a bottle of champagne and gave us 100 euros discount. The hotel is a few blocks from Notre Dame in the heart of the latin quarter...great location! My youngest daughter forgot her wallet with money inside and the hotel wrote me to let me know after we had left Paris. We were in Italy coming back to Paris to connect back to the USA the following week and they sent us her wallet by courier to the hotel at the airport (with everything inside). That the internet was weak and the tv had only one channel in english. Other than that everything was great!
I will definitely go again

Room Tip: I believe that the internet is better on lower floors

In a nutshell - an excellent choice !

Pros:
- great location !!
- in the heart of Latin quarter
- reasonable walking distance to Notre-Damn
- 3 minutes walk to Cluny-Sorbonne metro station, and 6 minutes to St. Michel metro station
- the bed is extremely comfortable, the best I have ever experienced (and I travel a lot !!!)
- Hotel staff was extremely helpful and offered a generous solution when our scheduled shuttle service did not show up (hotel staff offered private taxi at the price of a shared shuttle, and took responsibility for the price difference).
- rich breakfast (selection of cheese and yogurts, eggs, various types of bread and pastries, fruits, cereals, and more)
- WiFi signal in the room is strong and stable (at no extra charge)

Cons:
- It was a little annoying to re-type login details in order to connect to the WiFi (maybe on a laptop it works better, but my iPhone could not "remember" the login credentials). It's really not a big deal, and I advised hotel staff to try and improve this minor issue. They did take a note of it and said they will check if it can be solved.

We stayed at the hotel in August (we got a good deal) Paris was full with Tourists and it was a summer with a crazy heat wave, we arrived early in the morning & were greeted by the Thomas, a very nice & polite guy at the desk who helped us all through our stay (so did all the other pepole at the desk- all spoke fluent English) we started the day with Breakfast, since we were so early we got to enjoy all the food Selection-- very rich & good (eggs, cheese, sausages, bacon, yogurt, breads, pastries fruits, and juices) the room was small but Nice, clean and well organized & most important there was Air conditioning!!! (unlike the rest of Paris!) they also Offered free Wi-fi :)
the area is just Perfect, saint germain,Saint-Michel, Luxembourg garden also very close to many Metro stations so moving around was easy.. the hotel was one of the best suprises we had, I would love to stay there again!

Room rate is on the pricey side, but you have an excellent location, right in front of la Sorbonne University, and close to Jardin du Luxembourg. Easy access to RER and subway. Very good bed, but the rooms are small. Nice people and attentive service.

Dear Guest,

I would like to thank you for sharing your comments on Tripadvisor after your recent stay at our hotel.

I deeply regret to learn about your dissatisfaction and your disappointment during your stay at our hotel.

It is important to know that our main objective is to satisfy our guests and be sure that my team and I put everyday a total commitment to achieve this purpose.

Concerning the inconvenience caused by the noise coming from the back door, this is only an emergency exit never used by any staff members. I try to understand this exceptional noise and all corrective measures will be taken.

It is a pity that you didn’t come to see us after the first night, our team is very concerned about our guest’s satisfaction and I am sure that they we would have found a good solution and they would have allowed you to have a better stay until your departure.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me directly when you next come to Paris, so that I can oversee the details of your stay and ensure it truly unforgettable.

Kind regards.
