I had a pleasant two night stay at the Bastille de Launay recently.

The hotel is in a decent location close to a range of restaurants and shops, only a short walk from the Bastille and the Marais district. The breakfast was as you'd expect for a European hotel of this type - a good range of breads, cheeses and meats.

I think the staff were one of the best things about this hotel - such a friendly welcome (I was allowed to check in early as fortunately my room was ready) and readily there to help with directions, taxis, etc.

The only downsides for me were a bit of noise from the lift, and the wifi being pretty slow - not to be relied on if you require this as a necessity on a business trip.

The Hotel is centrally located and very close to the Republique metro station. The rooms are clean, modern and feature air conditioning as well as a there is a fridge. There is also a bar in the hotel. The staff are courteous, friendly and speak English well.

Great hotel, located on a wonderful part of Paris. The staff was really really nice and recommending us some great places to eat.

Rooms are a little small but clean and nice/cosy decorated. Its only a short walk (about 3 minutes) to the nearest Metro station that can take you anywhere in Paris.

Everytime i come to Paris i book this Bastille de Launay, i can recommend it to everybody!

First up, this hotel has very small rooms. Thankfully we were in Paris so we had no desire to stay in them for long! Add in the fantastic location and the amazing reception staff plus a more than reasonable rack rate and you've got a great base for a short low to midrange cost stay in Paris. The staff are immensely helpful, just lovely, and Bastille and nearby Marais are great neighbourhoods, too. Thank you Bastille de Launay!

We were in this lovely hotel in august 2012. The hotel is perfect! Yes, the room is small but you are in Paris, do you want to stay the whole day in the hotel? I think no! :) The hotel and the room were very clean. And we liked also the design of the house! Breakfast is OK; you have everything that you need (coffee/tea, yogurt, omelet, cheese…). You can use Wi-Fi (out of charge), PC (+ printing), you receive a lot of information (like maps, public transport map…), you can also order airport transfer.
The staff of the hotel is very very nice. Everyone! They are ready to help you and to explain everything, to advice where you can go round-the-clock! Thank you so much! You are the best!
And for Paris its good value of money!
There are three metro stations near; it’s just 10 minutes walking till Bastille and 20-30 till Notre Dame de Paris. The hotel is on the small street but is connected with the big and bright street (boulevard) so it’s OK and relative safe if you return in your hotel late in the night.
So we recommend this hotel, you will definitely not regret!

Stayed for just 2 nights in a single room. It was clean and with modern decor. That was the most important thing for me. The bathroom is pretty tiny but I was fine with that also. Got a room facing the interior so it was really quiet which I preferred over having a view. Wifi is free and worked well. Air conditioning struggled a bit in the Paris heat wave. Breakfast not included in tariff and I did not try it. Location - near a few metro stops which is good. There is also a small supermarket nearby.

I stayed here for only one night. It is well situated between two different metro line stations - very convenient when connecting from other locations. The front reception staff were very friendly and helpful.

The room - brightly coloured and compact. I had a single room and there was enough room to manoeuvre for one person. There was a wardrobe with full length mirrors (sometimes hard to find!) and a minibar and safe. The French windows opened out onto the courtyard which was lovely - you could use the windows to catch a breeze (or use the air-conditioning). The bed was comfortable and the pillows were relatively flat (fine by me, but others like more puffy ones). Free wifi was very fast! (Remember to ask for details at reception).

The bathroom - very functional but a bit of a squeeze. There was no rack in the shower to put soap and other toiletry items.

Other features - the front lobby area was quaint and intimate, plenty of tourist maps. I didn't eat the hotel breakfast. Nearby to the hotel are a small supermarket and pharmacy. When I arrived my room was supposed to be ready but I entered a room that still had towels on the floor, someone's used mini-bar items, no pillowcases etc. I left my things in the room and promptly headed to reception - the staff were extremely apologetic as they had been advised that housekeeping had finished, but they quickly and professionally rectified the problem.

The location - brilliant! Two nearby metro stations, walking distance to Place des Vosges and the Marais or the restaurants at Bastille, also near the street market near Blvd Richard Lenoir! Overall I enjoyed my experience here and would recommend this place to others.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a courtyard view
