Very nice location. Easy access to Metro. Basic breakfast and free wi-fi. Very friendly front desk staff - gave useful directions and maps to go around. Lot of restaurants , super market near the hotel. Reasonably priced.

Reasonably priced hotel in the 5th arrondissement. Very nice clean rooms..and a beautiful bathroom. Great location by the subway and a moderate walk to Notre Dame. Easy access to all locations in Paris. The front desk staff were wonderfully helpful. There is a self service laundry just up the street. The breakfast was just fine with a variety of breads and cheeses. I highly recommend this small but lovely hotel.

We stayed in a room on the upper floor of this hotel. The room was nice, clean and reasonably spacious. The view from the room was charming - the roofs, the pantheon and eiffel tower were visible from our window. The bathroom was large and modern. The service was good, and so was the wireless internet access.

What a great place for my first time in Paris! I stayed for 4 nights toward the end of May. My single room was on the 6th floor with an exceptional view of the Blvd Saint-Marcel, Pantheon and the Effiel Tower in the distance! Comfortable bed, small closet, fixed desk, nice modern tiled bath room & shower. Each morning's continental breakfast was a nice perk with an amply variety of meats, cereal, juices and coffee. First rate staff at every turn from the housekeeping staff to the very pleasant hostess at morning breakfast! John-Marc at the front desk was very helpful with suggestions for activities and restaurants. Location couldn't have been better. Busy boulevard with plenty of options for dining and cafes. Grocery nearby and very easy access to the metro at Les Gobelins and Place d'Italie stations less than a block away. Walking distance to the Sorbonne, Pantheon, Jardin des Plants, Gare d'Austerlitz and the Seine. A bit farther walk to Notre Dame but nice.

Just returned from a four night stay in this small hotel in the 13th district (south east) of Paris. Hotel is within 500m of Les Gobelins metro. From CDG airport get RER train to Denfert Rochereau and change for line 5 to Place d'Italie then 1 stop on line 7. Takes about 1 hr 15 mins. We stayed in a triple room which just about fitted 3. Bathroom was as big as the room which is unusual. Breakfast is fine lots of bread, fruit etc.
PROS
Good location in a nice residential area
Clean with lots of towels
Very friendly and helpful staff
Nice bars and restaurants close by
Seems like a safe area. Certainly saw nothing of concern when we were there
Right beside a supermarket which is good value. Great place to buy lunch for the day or drink for the night
Within walking distance of Parc des Plants (beautiful park) and if you keep on same road you come to Notre Dame
Not too expensive. €185 for 3 adults in a triple room with breakfast per night
CONS
It is Paris so traffic starts at 6am so could be an issue for light sleepers
You might have to wait for a table for breakfast
No tea/coffee making facilities in room. Which was an issue for my tea addict wife.

In the context of loving every single thing about Paris on our recent trip, this hotel was a bit disappointing. When compared to our first hotel (we left and came back to Paris...more on that later) it definitely came up short. It was less expensive, of course, but the amenities, such as they were, didn't measure up to a good hotel.

There's nothing wrong with the location and makes a good headquarters for sight-seeing. The metro is close as is a bus line which is very useful. A few things about the hotel left us with a sort of sour taste though.

In some of the literature we read, air-conditioning was mentioned. The hotel isn't air-conditioned except on the top floor. That is not that unusual in Paris, but when you expect AC, it's disappointing not to have it. It happened to be quite warm for a few days we were there, so we were not as comfortable as we might have been.

The elevator stopped working for most of one day and part of another. Why? It rained. There was a leak that caused the rain to pour in on the top of the elevator. There is one elevator. It was inconvenient. Not that this hotel is at all handicapped friendly.

The room itself was ok..nothing special, but fine. Not even as small as many Paris hotel rooms.

The breakfast was included, and it was decidedly mediocre in comparison to what one grows to expect in Europe. In addition, the staff at breakfast were decidedly unfriendly and downright bossy. You couldn't sit where you wanted to...they were trying to save 4 tops for later guests, and even when our traveling companions were on their way down to breakfast, my wife and i had to sit at a table for two...once halfway into the hallway. That's just plain silly, but the room is small and when there are many guests, they do have a problem. I can think of other ways of handling it, though.

For the most part, the people at the front desk were friendly enough and spoke good English. They were quite helpful, There was no real concierge to help with tickets to events or concerts. Also not uncommon in smaller hotels. A couple of those folks, though, were pretty snippy and not that helpful.

The hotel just looks tired, basically. It looks as if it were once beautiful..and one gets the impression that it had been sold to some conglomerate that was intent on squeezing what they could get out of it and then sell it cheap. Carpets are worn and don't look clean. Baseboards are chipped. Paint is flaking everywhere.

Our general opinion, then, was that the hotel is adequate, marginally, if the room rate is very good. It certainly is not for people who want even a slightly upscale experience..and certainly not for anyone who needs accommodation for a handicap of any kind. If the staff were uniformly helpful and pleasant, and the breakfast experience was good, it would have helped a great deal. It's a bargain if it is a bargain...I imagine that rates vary wildly and if you catch a really good one, and you don't mind some discomfort along the way, you'll be fine.

Room Tip: If you want ac, get a room on the 6th floor.
