Nearby the sacré coeur and a good metro-station, nice and good restaurants/bars/shops in the neighborhood. Clean rooms with enough heat and airco, a bit little but with nice and warm-colored paintings on the walls. Friendly guy at the reception. We id not take breakfast, because the dining room was small and warm (in november)

if you are deaf and blind, stay in this dump, otherwise stay away. tiny dirty smelly rooms, banging doors, loud main street in front of it. no hot water in the shower, and when we used the hairdryer the fuse popped out repeatedly (every time calling reception to take care of it). the hotel clearly has never been renovated since it was built. if you want to go to paris save more money and stay at a better place.

Stayed here for four nights. The guy at reception was very helpful and pleasant always remembered your name, one of the best receptionist's I've ever met. First room we had the toilet was broken and couldn't be used, was moved to a room on the 1st floor. Room was pleasant enough but the noise from outside was terrible and the cafe next door played load music until 2am in the morning on Saturdays so please if you can do not stay in the 1st floor!! Location was brillant as the metro is right next to the hotel and there is plenty of supermarkets and bakers to keep you going. Best part of the hotel was definately the receptionist!

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the higher floors, the first floor is a nightmare!

The first room we got, 306, had a strong fungus smell from the beginning. The bathroom wall towards the street is covered with a lot of black spots. The smell of the fungus was so strong, that we had to ask for a different room.

The second room, 408 had no more smell on the walls but only black fungus on the shower curtain and the upper shower walls. Even after telling the concierge, the fungus was not removed.

The window in 408 didn't close properly. The electricity fuse blew two times while staying in the hotel. The bed in 408 was so old and used, that we didn't sleep well for three days. After complaining and demanding a 20% price reduction for the rooms, we got a 10% discount.

I stay here right now with a friend. We booked a double room with 2 beds but got a room with one bigger bed. The rooms are very smal and it's quite noisy from the street outside. The location is perfect and you have a cafe/bar in the same building. Metro is just downstairs.

PROS:
+ Great location. Right next to the Lamarck metro station, though you will have to climb a set of stairs on the street. Nice neighborhood. Once we lost the metro and the taxi from arc du triunfe to the hotel only cost 9 euros.
+ Elevator. It's tiny, if you have big pieces of luggage you will probably have to do more than one trip, but it works.
+ Ample private bathroom.

CONS:
- It has free WiFi, but the signal in your room might be too weak to use, so don't count on it.
- The aisles are small and feel like an old wooden building. Decoration was not my favorite.

I booked to stay here with a friend for 3 nights this August. It's in a great spot by the Sacre Coeur, Metro nearby and some lovely local restaurants. We were given Room 603 which was small but perfectly adequate for our short stay and had a great view over the city. However, after our first nights sleep we awoke to discover we had been bitten numourous times, subsequently discovering several enormous BED BUGS! We informed the hotel immediately, they didn't seem surprised or concerned and agreed to refund our money, therefore we moved hotels.

This could be a really nice, basic hotel, however, the laid back attitude to this problem and the fact they allowed us to stay in a room that had clearly had a problem for some time was to me, totally unacceptable. I appreciate this is a growing issue for hotels as I've since done quite a bit of research - not dealing with the sitution in the first place here was the biggest failure.
