Really nice hotel and excellent service! very friendly and efficient staff, willing to help at all times
the room was just a bit cramped for three people with large suitcases, but very good anyway, and of course as a double room is excellent! very good restroom and everything was very clean
excellent breakfast

Stayed for four nights, the hotel is in good location, quiet area with cafes, patisserie and some more shops. 5 min walk from two metro stations. Clean, not too small room (bigger than we expected). Very helpful stuff. We will come again.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The pictures make the rooms look a lot better than they are in reality. Hotel is dated and interior hallways are run down.

Upon arriving at the hotel, we waited for 10 minutes in the pouring rain for someone to come unlock the front door. There was a sign in french that we figured said ring the doorbell and be back later. Standing with luggage in the rain was not a wonderful welcome.

As soon as the front desk person finally let us in, he proceeded to tell us in broken english that he was having a problem with our room key and he would have to let us in to our room each time we wanted to enter.

The room was decent, but being SO FAR away from downtown Paris was frustrating. Metros are easy to navigate but hard to switch lines... not all train stations service more than one line, therefore you have to get off one train, walk and get on another. It took about 30/45 minutes to get downtown each day.

Wifi is free which is nice, but internet is super slow. Breakfast is not included and not worth the 14 euros. There are some cute neighborhood restaurants in walking distance but hotel is not on the normal tourist track, be prepared to speak french or understand broken english.

Needless to say, I would recommend paying the extra 50-75 euros for something nicer near the city center. Staying in Montmarte would have been fabulous. Bon Voyage!

Dear madam,
I sincerely regret that our hotel did not meet your expectations. To tell the truth I hardly recognize the Hotel Ariane in your description, since the comfort of our guest is the center of our daily attention and the hotel has been recently renovated. Usually our customers are more than satisfied with the reception team but apparently that day with the rain was not perfect and we apologize. Paris is a big city and the Montparnasse area is in the left bank heart of Paris and the Montparnasse subway hub goes every direction which is very convenient. Some connections between lines indeed require to walk a little between the platforms. Buses are also a great alternative as it allows you to enjoy the scenery on the way and not be underground.

If we had known that you wanted to be in the pretty Montmartre area in the northern part of Paris, we would have booked you in one of our 3 hotels in that area.
Nevertheless, we take into account your review and we talked to the front desk about what happened and we hope that you will give us a new chance to show you the hotel Romance, Glasgow or Theatre in the 17th area with their real qualities and advantages.
Sincerely,

I stayed for 8 nights. The room was small but not unusual for Europe. Bathroom is nice but only has a shower. The area is quiet, has many restaurants, close to metro station and Gare Montparnasse. Close to the Catacombs of Paris(10 minute walk) and Jardin Luxembourg. There are also a couple of small grocery stores, bakeries and Laundromats.

Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review about the Hotel Ariane. We are pleased to hear that you had a nice stay with us in Paris as it is the best reward we can receive. It was great to have you for a whole week. The Montparnasse area is indeed well located in the left bank and offers a very authentic Parisian experience to our guests with its restaurants, farmer's market and shops. We are glad to hear that you had time to enjoy the Luxembourg Gardens nearby and discover the unusual Catacombs of Paris.

We are looking forward to seeing you soon on your next Parisian getaway.
Sincerely,

Stayed here for three nights and found no issues at all.

The hotel is well presented and the rooms were clean and just as advertised on the website. We expected the rooms to be on the small side as is usual for reasonably priced hotels in major city centers, and the room met our expectation. Incongruously, our bathroom was nearly as big as the bedroom.

The hotel staff were pleasant and helpful without being stiff. They provided everything we asked for.

The hotel itself is close to the city center and a walk of just a few minutes to the Metro station. It is also nearby Rue Daguerre which is a market shopping street full of great food shops. And it is only a few minutes walk from the lively area around Pernety Metro station. There are lots of nice restaurants and bars around there. La Cantine Du Troquet is well worth looking out for a meal.

I would go back to this hotel and area again if I could get the same reasonable rate (roughly £80 pn via a broker)

Very helpful, pleasant staff, very good English spoken.
Hotel is clean, nice location, easy access to metro.
Plenty of places to eat nearby.
The room we had was small, but perfectly adequate.
Buffet breakfast had a good choice.
When checking out they will look after luggage if you have a later flight.
Would return here again without hesitation.
